my char (lvl 15 druid) and his companion (13 bard/ 2 ftr) just recently came upon a pile of money. we are contemplating building some sorta stronghold. now that thought seems very undruidic to me (druids reverring nature and a stronghold seeming sorta city like and thus not the most natural of things) now supposing i still wanna make something like a stronghold...what would be a druidic version of one and waht would it contain? thanks for whatever help can be given.

Here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20020203a) is a download about a druid's grove, that could give you some ideas. However, this doesn't seem very expensive, essencially some spells, and animal companions.

What a rich druid could do is to build a road in a forest, to make sure that the travelers won't desecrate beautiful parts of this forest.

A "Stronghold" does not have to mean a castle on a hill.
It could mean a modest wooden walled place of learning about nature and it's contents.

As long as you construct the buildings with respect for nature, there is no reason a city would be "undruidic."

What about standing-stones. These could also be enchanted to act as wards too.

Alternatively, you could make an underground chamber/shrine, similar to various barrows in Great Britain. As an example, take a look at Bryn Celli Ddu (http://www.stonepages.com/wales/photos/bryncellidduhi.jpg)

And there is nothing to stop the Bard/Ftr creating a castle, and the Druid filling the inner courtyard with an exotic garden. There could even be a stone keep, surrounded by an enchanted grove, surrounded by a wooden palisade. The palisade may be easy to overcome, but the enchanted plants in the surrounding grove would act more favourably than any moat. And archers on the inner keep (or hill fort, if you don't want anything stone-built, could pick off intruders caught by the entangling plants.

How about a high living-wood palisade, with the Entangling and Thornwood augmentations, accessible only through flight or burrowing? A net of vines over the top, and guard towers of packed earth, and you've got an all-natural fortress.

im liking these ideas though the last one has the most immediate appeal. how would something liek that be priced?? how would the entangling vines be made permanent??
