I will be editing this post, as new infomation comes... in the buttom of the post No arcane magic allowed. I started a tread on how to roleplay a cleric, http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=745146 But was tolded to come with some more infomations about my character, so here it is. A bit long, sorry. The game is gonna be very roleplaying-style, so just building the perfect class-build wont work, unless you can find the right trainers, and can roleplay it. 1 Session: We where soldiers in a small village inside a forrest. A new lord in the city was building a new barrack to the village, with help of some blackroped guys. They only worked at night, and the y worked very unartualy fast. Near the end of the session we found a hidden basement in the tavern, where a necromancer was turning the peoples into zombies. We attacked the evil one, and we all died after a long battle. We woke up as children it was all a dream. 2 Session: We where all children playing together in a now large city, and we found out it was the same city as the one in the dream. The game went on and we where trying to build up our personalities so we could chose a ”class”. I worked at the local temple, cleaning. One of the priets had let me read some of the books on the divine, an had excepted to train me to become a servant of Pelor. At the end we all had found trainers to help us get into a ”class” and the game ended. The group: Barbarian (kind of an ill tempered bully) Swachbuckler Ranger (going for the bow i think) And then me. Before 3 Session: 3 years have gone, and we are now ”level 1”. This session hasnt been played yet. I could go for the Cleric of Pelor (later Radience of Pelor) type, and i also found this a very cool character... but i know my self so well, that i know that i will become bored with that kind of character (too goody-style). So this is what i was thinking had been habent in the last 3 years: I worked hard on becoming a Cleric of Pelor, reading a **** load of books, meditating and all that cleric stuff. But when the time comes for me to try out my first try of casting divine magic, Pelor dont grant me the power and no matter how hard i try nothing habens. The priets tells me that not all men have the right faith to be granted the power of the divine, but there are many ways to worship Pelor. I am to help the temple with investigeting what ever they ask me to. Usely they send me out to find infomations, and then i am to contact them and they go fix it, if it turns out to be something evil. 3 Session: Level 1 Human Paragon Im gonna play him as so, a servant of Pelor, who had failed to become a cleric, taking Human Paragon up to level 3. Then getting frusting about not being able to become a cleric ever, and seek out training as a fighter, simply a mand who have lost his faith and have no ideer where to turn. (Human Paragon 3, Fighter 2) Time has gone by and i have become more and more frusting on not being able to chant the divine powers of Pelor, that i decide to turn my back to Pelor's will, and simply just take what is rightfully mine (this is where i need to convince my GM), and become an Ur-priest. His allignment is gonna be evil at this point, but im mostly gonna roleplay him as good, but most of his actions gonna be evil. (this part still some work) This is what i got so far. Does it sound playable, or simply stupid? If at high level i chose a level in Hierophant and chose Miracle as a spell-like ability, wont the God who i steal spells from, be very angry if then ask him to perform a Micale for me? Got any roleplaying idees to this character? Can a Ur-priest even take levels in Hierophant as the ur-priest dont have a deity? |

As a mechanical suggestion, though, you may want to take a level in a spellcasting class before you go into the second and third levels of Human Paragon, to make use of the additional spellcasting it grants. I'd suggest Bard, simply because it has healing spells on its list - which could easily represent his attempts to replicate clerical casting using a different source of power. If your DM won't allow Ur-Priest, you might want to think about just being a Cleric of an Ideal, or even of an evil god. The quick and easy path, and all that. Maybe Pelor won't grant you spells, but somebody else might. Or, of course, Favored Soul of an evil diety. Maybe Pelor wouldn't grant you spells because another god had already chosen you. Just an idea. |

| Thubby11-26-06, 02:51 PM | you could be a paladin, play the no spells varient from UA, youll be a faithful follower, but will feel abandoned, because he wont grant you spells. just a thaught. cool idea though, i like it. |
