| chiaboco08-23-07, 08:18 PM | im trying to make a backstory for my dread necro but I have hit a major snag. I cant think of a single thing. the dn is named eri, its a female, human, and shes between 17 and 22 years old. (havent quite figured it out yet) now heres the real kicker. shes bisexual and shes traveling with her crush. ( a female alurin named astaroth. she's a druid.) I hope to get a few intelligent awnsers amongst the flames I know are going to be headed my way. and by the way, im 20 so please dont make any comments about me being a pre-pubesent horny teenager. I am making this character because I plan to tie bolth of their stories into a few adventures. well heres hoping for the best. oh and an allurin can be found in the homebrew races section. |

Or perhaps your embarrassed by being a user of necromancy, and try and hide it/use it as little as possible whenever your around your crush. Constantly trying to point out your other 'better' qualities and such. Or finally, perhaps the druid is trying to convice you of the error of your ways for using necromancy, and is trying to teach you a better way. Youre *pretending* to listen and learn because it allows you to be closer to her. Hope it all goes well. Peace |

My dread, who you will find mentioned in my signature, was a DN 1 at the time of their meeting. He encountered the druid, a changeling woman, whom he had once been friends with as a child, before his home was dstroyed and he became impacted by death on a level that turned what would have been sorcery into dread necromancy. After they met, they exchanged a long argument, the druid saying he had become an abomination for his practice, him proclaiming that it was fate and nature that gave him his powers, and thus, albeit in a twisted fashion, performing the art is natural for him and not to be abhorred. Both being neutral, he began convincing her that necromancy is natural, because it existed before necromancers, and is a force which binds the world to the Plane of Shadow, one of the two connected to the Prime Material Plane. In this fashion, undead were a sort of testament to the bond in his argument. While the druid disagreed, she saw the validity in his opinion and he offered to stay with her, firstly to unite old friends, secondly to allow their natures to keep both in check, and perform a sort of balance. This is where it all started. |

| staalmannen08-25-07, 11:29 AM | An interesting twist might be that your character ACTUALLY listen to her crush...and thereby start to practice as a druid (although still skilled as a dread necromancer - what has been learnt can not be un-learnt and of course she needs to use whatever tools she got at her disposal during adventures). As she develops further as a druid - still arguing that undeath is part of the Greater Order of things - she find the ultimate truth of her "made up philosophy" and embark on the path of being an Arcane hierophant (however... I really wonder how a Druid/DN arcane hierophant actually would work - what kind of strange creature would the poor familiar companion turn into for example?) |
| chiaboco08-25-07, 12:11 PM | ummmmm..... an spell-stitched squirrel? however, a druid/dn does sound like it would have alot to offer in the rp and flavor dept. my only concern is how to keep the animal companion from eating my familiar. |
| Fithero08-25-07, 01:31 PM | my only concern is how to keep the animal companion from eating my familiar. No problem, they become the same creature thanks to the arcane hierophant prc. I like the idea of a dread necro/druid... its definetly a new idea, ill get it that :P Peace |
| chiaboco08-25-07, 01:49 PM | I can imagine eri waking up one morning and finding the squirrel kick-boxing a wolf. actully when you look at it from a distance, necromancy and druid-ism (dont have a better term) can both be looked at as cycles of nature. well life and death more accurately. hmmm.... I wonder if any prc's can be made out of this idea.... (uh-oh my brains starting to wander) |
| chiaboco08-27-07, 12:04 PM | so far all I have come up with is that the eri's ways begin to be influenced by gohana (name was changed) and begins to take levels in druid. somewhere along the line she begins to worship the cycles of nature. life to death to life again. |
