A formal philosophy for my Character [Archive] - Wizards Community

My character is a Tiefling Transmuter with a high IQ and a low Chr. I explain it by having her be the descendant of a Night Hag, which has ravaged her appearance--she looks like Baba Yaga on a bad day.

Yet on the inside she is good and kind. The sticks and stones of those around her hurt more than she can bear, yet she puts up a brave front for her party. One of the things that I want to do for this character is create a coherent formal philosophy on rebirth and transmutation for her based on this statement.

"People think that my appearence reflects my soul, but I disagree. My soul is better than this shell. My powers willing, I will change that."

She has only an average wisdom and a high Intelligence so I think that her philosophy should be highly intellectualized instead of religious. I'm thinking a transmformative philosophy based on using magic to constantly evolve upwards as the cornerstone. A magical version of Transhumanism.

In game terms I am shooting for Master Transmogrifist and eventually I will buy off a few levels in order to take some levels in the deva racial class from savage species to represent my characters rise from a lowly and twisted tiefling into an angelic wizard of awesome power.

Anyone have any ideas on ways to formalize this philosophy into something coherent?

Platonic Realism? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platonic_realism) Perhaps you're trying to transcend the vagaries of temporal form and become a living archetype. Anyway, it's a much more intellectual approach to transcendence than that in, say, Buddhism, and has a connection to the ethics and concepts of goodness found elsewhere in Plato's philosophy.
