Many green dragons have a fine taste for the soft flesh of an innocent elven maiden. One ancient green has a taste for the flesh of a different sort. The great wyrm, Vyrebramde; the youngest of the 10 "ancients of Solmara" has held claim to the sacred and enchanted elven groves of Aastasia since years before the great dragon wars. After the dragon wars laid waste to the Aastasian castle and forced the remaining high elven families to migrate far off to the mystic lands of the Forever Forest, Vyrebramde took the castle for his own and lairs deep beneath the main hall. From time to time, he over looks his hunting grounds from atop his new perch- the now ruined castle. From nymph lake, below the castle water fall, to the grand city of Mother Oak, he claims it all as his greatest treasure. His greatest treasure, 2nd only to the many elven maidens whom he has taken as his lustful prizes. Of one such union of lustful sarrow has come a stoic paragon of potential that only legends can claim.

He is Braede. Half elf, half green dragon, and handsome like a rogue. Tall, proud, built powerfully, but still hints at his heritage with a sleak elven frame, and long black hair. At 1st he would almost seem regal and pompous, but he cannot hide his barbaric past and childish anger. His voice is slightly melodic, but nearly hidden behind his deep, gruff, almost growling chant. His elven mother dead from a brutal and violent birth, his father sent him away at a very young age. Not yet an adult, he was forced to fend for himself near the land of the Forbidden Forest. Soon he would find the Barbaric Brushwich tribe. They are fickle whorshippers of the nightmare fearie queen known as Sepentina and mistaken a young Braede as gift from her. They trained him in the deadly ways of a Brushwich hunting party and the vicious art of whirling long swords of which he has become a master.

.....One thing young Braede could not master was Aalys- now known to the underworld as the Drow Queen, but that is another story.

Many adventures and journeys came. Young Braede fully came into his own and was to become a king. He tamed what was said to be the untamable. A swift and powerful wyvern who has become his most trusted and loyal of comrades during his time in the cave nation of the hobgoblins. With his old travelling comrade; Sarrynn, the hobgoblin tribe's most powerful fighter and his goblin legion, Braede was to return to Aastasia once more.

If Braede were to become a king, he would need an empire, a kingdom. The great tree and old elven city known as Mother Oak has long been abandoned. Braede saw fit to call Mother Oak his, it was in his blood afterall. Braede saw humans as weak, pathetic, and to be used only as tools. Not even the Brushwich were immune to these thoughts. He wanted a world without humans ruling or holding any kind of power and he was to be the one to bring it.

....there would be a flaw in his plan though. There would be one elf left in Aastasia.

Princess Alolan. Alolan while very young was sent away many years ago, during the dragon wars so that she would be safe. She was left in the care of a barbaric druidic society deep within the mountians near the peaks of Freemist. She was to eventually return home to find things not the way they were when she was a child. One chance meeting with her in the groves if Aastacia and she would change Braede's heart forever. Braede's love for her rivals his long lost love with the drow queen. His minions began to faulter, calling his love with her "fool's love". Eventually he would give up everything he had for her.

He would eventually take princess Alolan as his bride and bind his heart and soul to hers with eldritch magic known only by the Brushwich wise women. Now Braede is on a new quest. One to find out what he really wants and needs from life. A journey he cannot take with his wife Alolan. He is on a quest to make her proud to be his queen.

Soon, in the game, Braede will return to the story. A few levels into the game, he was introduced as a powerful enemy of the player characters. A few levels later, he married the elven druid named Alolan-princess of the lost Aastasian groves(player character). He still remained bitterly hated by her companions, The Dwarven fighter-favored soul named Kristoff, and the mighty Barbarian-Sorcerer known as the Titus(PCs). They first encountered Braede and his companions hunting a young unicorn only to find out later he had slaughtered the young one's parents. Something Titus refuses to forgive him for.... That and stealing the heart of princess Alolan.

The PC's actions may cause Braede to return to his old ways. He has lost faith in all that is good after his experiences with the Skylorian knights and Megalas's treachery towards him. Alolan and Titus have read the legendary artifact known as the Lunar Codex, which is the only known key to the fabled Moon Goddess, a key that Braede has been in search of for a very long time. He will also find out that he cannot read the remaining chapter, for it is to be guarded and kept away from all who would read. Titus will complete the final ritual soon that will invoke the blood forced in his heart by a legendary dragon god to finally ascend and take the Dragon Diciple prestige class. Braede will find this vulgar. Braede hates humans, and dislikes Titus, and when he finds out about the ritual, it will be like a spit in the face. On top of it all, Alolan, Titus, and Delana(cleric-radiant servant/PC) rescued a little girl who had her family slaughtered by a group of dark faeries. Alolan wishes to raise the girl as her own- a human girl..... Braede distrusts humans, and has made no secret of his dark desires to live in a world without them.

Alolan-level 17 druid(variant from unearthed arcana)
Titus-level 13 barbarian 3 human paragon 1 sorcerer
Delana-level 4 cleric 3 human paragon 9 radiant servant

Since her feet were much smaller, Alolan, or by her family's name, Llwynedd Elleth Aranel Estanesse of Ara, has walked her family's lands in search of purpose. The High Elves of the Grove are fabled to have fled to the Forever Forest during the Dragon Wars, but they left behind one vital key to their history in promise of returning, their princess. She was taken to the mountains by her brother in search of a safe place to which the elves could return and find her, and there she was left with the dwarves of the mountains, who taught her to exercise caution. As she grew, she never thought to question her family's return to her in The Grove, she assumed because they said it would be, so it would be. She was taken to a tribe of human barbarians and druids, and was raised among them, slightly wilder, and slightly wiser.

When she moved from the mountains, away from the eagles that soared over the peaks, and away from the asperi, with whom she ran, she was taken by her people into the heart of the Aastasian Grove, back over Grove Lake, to a healthy tree, where she could see the entirity of her land, from one grand oak to another. The land did not sit beneath the same peaceful clouds as when she was younger. She watched from her tree as the wild things grew wilder, and the evil grew darker. She practiced shooting arrows and developed an unbeatable precision. She practiced running, because sometimes to run, was the only option. The breezes of the Grove cut through her hair as she swung between the trees, and watched at a distance as the two Oaks of her forest, Mother Oak, the grander, and Father Oak, the lesser, bustled with unfriendly noise.

The afternoon was coming as she decided to wander further away from her strong tree. She walked past the North Ridge Cliffs and calmed the wolves that awaited her, hungry. She ventured down toward Faerie Thicket, where the grass grew tall, and the twinkle of the fey was ever-present. As she headed for the point in her land where Grove Lake made a large pool, she saw a crude cage hanging from a tree, and inside, she saw a small, green creature. The sprite made noises of pain as kobolds poked her with spears a laughed wickedly. She fired, first, upon the ropes of the cage, trying to free the ties, so the sprite could escape. Then as the kobolds took notice of her they began to redirect their attacks. She had never seen death at her own hands, and as kobolds fell to her arrows and she bled from their spears, she called the wolves to fight on her behalf. As the kobolds fled, the sprite lie still in the cage, blood dripping from her pale, pink mouth, and the elf girl cried, as she freed the sprite and lifted her in her arms, laying her to rest in the pool of the Grove Lake. The sprite's blood washed clean out into the clear water, and the separation between herself and her enemies became clearer as her tears trickled down her fine facial features.

From the human village, in the hours just after daylight, when she ate berries, and watched the land below from a treetop, she saw a figure move. She hid in the brush and spied as the shadow moved on the ground below. Her life was a solitary one, aside from the plants, and the animals with whom she found companionship, so she found the movement of the stranger in her land, very interesting. As he removed his skins to wash in the Lake, she looked away, but she remained close to him, as to not let him escape, like a fine new prey. He was a human, and he had seen her. She ducked and she hid, but he could make her out, playing a rhythmic game, weaving into and out of the trees. He spoke to her in simple Common, and she lowered her head and presented herself. No high elves, or elves at all in this area for some twenty or thirty years, made the young barbarian arch a dark eyebrow. He watched her ears and threatened to remove them, if she didnt get better control of them.

Satyrs came, with dreams of recovering lost pipes from goblins the she found inhabited her Mother Oak, once the tree kingdom of her people. Wicked druids and wicked fey overshadowed the promise of her home's restoration. Her friends and foes alike were injured and her grove that had laid in silent despair, began to run with the blood of the foul and the innocent. A dwarf came to her and her barbarian, and together the three fought as best they could there, in The Grove, and in the outlying lands. For a while, in the Aastasian Groves, every single day was a near death escape, and then as time passed, and skill outgrew naivte, the powers of what could have been destiny gathered behind the princess, family long gone, their return increasingly unlikely, and perhaps never planned.

As Alolan's eagle soared overhead, it called to her and on the ground, she knelt to inspect fallen drops of blood. She could hear the flying of heavy wings over head, and a green, draconic creature flew in the the treetops. She took to her to top speed and followed the blood with intent, her dwarf, Kristoff, and her barbarian, Titus, trailing behind, weapons drawn. She saw another creature that resembled the one airborne, and Titus and Kristoff stopped for a distraction as she crossed the lake. Trying to cross the lake in front of her, a very young unicorn waded and swan, wounded. She begged and pleaded with the unicorn to allow her to help him, but he would not. She felt the heat of the other other tracker coming to find the magical beast and after far too much time, he agreed, and she healed him, allow his hooves to leave no tracks, as her comrades cut two of their ememies down.

As she ran from the woods and on the opposite side of the lake, she was startled and stopped with a start, as she looked into the yellow eyes of a slender, well-built half-dragon, jet black hair over his strong shoulders. His weapons, his armor, his ability, all superior to his own, she could smell that the way most humans could smell the difference in their cooked meats. He was not surprised to see her though, and he smiled over his fangs as if expecting to see her there. For the release of the unicorn and the return of the unicorn's parents' horns, she bargained with him. She had only one thing fine enough to be added to his treasure, herself.

Atonement, undead, conquering her tree kingdom and returning it to it's beauty from the grips of Lloth, slaying the children of the Ancients of Solmara, freeing the mind of Braede from his weapon, refusing to bargain with demons, speaking to the fey deities, returning the saytrs pipes, slaying her own assassins, at every turn there was self-doubt about her place in this world. Only two things held her, the memory of what The Aastasian Grove was meant to be, and the bond she held with Braede.

She took for him an epic about the Moon Goddess, the one he had sought for so long, and accidentally reading an artifact that would allow her to gain audience with the moon goddess, intended to request that the audience be given to her husband. Now though, she carries on her Asperi mount, the daughter of fallen humans, and the weight of those that now live in her tree kingdom, humans, the good fey, all counting on her, and all unwitting enemies of her husband. He has been gone for months as she brings the child back to Mother Oak, no word, no sign that he will return to her again, or even return in the same state, except that the bond on her chest does not bleed, and the star hangs quiet over the mountain.

[possible idea giving DM approval of course]

In the vale Crosswood Thicket, a 1000 creeks meet to form the beautiful river Alalon. The river leads out like a snake into the land defying the natural path to the sea. Almost like it wishes to touch all the surrounding lands as to keep an eye on things. Here in the valley where a 1000 creeks meet, a community of the strangest order exists.

A member of the druidic order, a hierophant of the name Maadi Tabeeren Galeranon of Weatherhaze, is assigned to watch over this mystical valley, to protect the riverhead from tampering. He being a the most devoted follower of Alalon in the order, was intrusted with this job. He vowed to protect it always and never let it leave his sight. The druid spent many years of study in this thick and began to understand the mystical properties of this land. He started on a plan, unknown to any of the members of the druidic order, to start a unique community of the Solmara’s animals. He started with the animals native to the thick, awakening there intellect, asked them if they wanted to be apart of a free sharing community where every animal shared its goods, educated the young, wanted to take in knowledge of the world and better themselves. The animals were in agreeance. The druid taught this animals the way of natures magic and sent them out into the world to awaken animals and send them back to Crosswood. Within the next 50 years or so, the community flourish with life. Every tree and animal awakened. All species educating each other about the workings of the world and creating new ideas and ways of life with each other. They even being experiments with interspecies breeding and the creation of new animals. Of course they keep all this contained within the valley walls as to not upset the outside world. Others may not understand there community.

After many years and generations have passed, Maadi is coming to the end of his life. The order has offered to send him send help in maintaining his thicket but he always refuses in fear others may not approve of his community. Being that he is at the end of life, he decides to build a council of animals, the supreme specimen from each race, the animal with the most rarest coat and purest blood became part of the council. They were created to maintain the valley and ensure there community remained that of animals. No pure blood humanoids, magical beasts, or outsiders allowed. The council was given power before Maadi’s death so he could feel safe in leaving it in there hands. After his heart was set at ease he went off to the druidic order to explain what he has done. He said he would return to finish out his life not as there leader but as their equal, in the shape of a magestic Elk. He never returned. The animals questioned his disappearance, they then decided to once again send more of there own out into the world. On one hand to see if there are more animals to be gathered and on the other… to check on Maadi’s disappearance.
