My play style will be to get into close quarters combat with my mace and full plate. Outside of battle I want to appear generous, charismatic, and selfless. I also need some character quirks, likes/dislikes, fears, etc. |

You probally feel a need to be an icon of your patron diety. As Lawful I'd say your religious docterine is huge to you. It codifies your existance. From your discription of how you want to do combat you seem very hands on. Your not a preacher that sits in a church or hides behind his friends in battle and casts spells your right up front and personal. When your in town you introduce yourself to the local enforcement and ask how you can help. You see someone in trouble you step right in and help weather it's giving some silver to the poor you see on the street or helping the bouncer at the tavern your in expidite the departure of a rowdy patron with as little damage as possible to the tavern and patron or leaving said tavern afterwards because of your actions in helping to rid the bar of said patron. For charecter quirks I'd probally go with things like coming up with religious sayings for while casting spells and such As for things to hate. Your a direct agent of your god. Hate things your god would hate including other servants of other gods. after all your god is better. |

Pushing people out of bars and giving pocket change to panhandlers is not righteous enough for a character with the blood of a celestial in his veins! Make sacrifices, and make them hurt. Give away your cut of the treasure to charities. Not just pittances of silver, either. Give enough so that you have barely enough coin left to function. Whenever the party has downtime, seek out strangers to heal. If the opportunity arises, try to redeem a villain to the side of good! This probably won’t work for supernatural agents of evil, but it may well work for humanoids whom you treat with dignity and respect even as you foil their evil plans. Don’t pester others into worshipping your god; convert them by making them genuinely appreciate you! This doesn’t mean you have to scold your party members every time they do something you don’t approve of. To the contrary, one of your dislikes might be clerics who are “all talk” and spend all their time telling people what NOT to do. This could help you avoid the pitfall of becoming the stereotypical “cleric or paladin whom the rest of the party hates because they have to wait until he’s not looking to get their way.” |
