A while ago, I played a psuedo-Persian LE Hexblade/Sorcerer/Spellsword who fought with a greatsword specialized in fire magic. He was a deceptive, exploitive, and affable warlord with absolutely no ethics. Now, I find myself playing a psuedo-Chinese CG Berserker/Sorcerer/Rage Mage who fights with a Guan Dao (glaive) specalizes in lightning magic. He's loud, quick-tempered, and has a highly overdeveloped sense of honor and justice. Ethnically- and Elementally- themed warrior-mages who carried big weapons, but were highly different both in build and in roleplaying.

Have any of you ever had a series of characters who went along similar themes like that? I didn't mean to make the two so formulaic.... but now I feel obliged to make a third one at some point, who is TN, specializes in ice magic, fights with a double weapon, etc.

Thing is, I'm not sure how I would bring it together. The LE Spellsword was inspired by the FF5 Mystic Knights. The CG Rage Mage was inspired by characters from Outlaws of the Marsh and figures like Lightning in Big Trouble in Little China and Raiden from Mortal Kombat.

Any advice on how to create, theme, or play the third (and probably final) figure in this unintentional series? I was thinking of using the Eldritch Knight PrC (Unless someone knows of another good combat-magic PrC), fighting unarmored (or more specifically, Mage Armored), and maybe using the Ranger, Fighter, or Swashbuckler as the base combat class. I really don't have too many ideas on how such a character might act, or what part of the world to vaguely model him/her on.

Thanks in Advance,

Hmm...

if you want to go along with the ethnic theme, you may consider a Norse type. A viking, but not your typical viking. Normal vikings are loud, rough, tough, chaotic types. If this guy is TN, he'd be the one sitting back in the mead hall, quietly watching everyone else roister. Such a person would normally be harassed, but this man is feared for his sorcerous powers. He's respected, but not liked. He would be even more feared than he already is, except his loyalty to his people/nation/city/thane/whatever is absolute (think a TN druid's loyalty to nature). He comes across as cold and withdrawn, but since charisma is a measure of what a person's personality is truly like and not how they present themselves, anyone thinking that they can bully him is in for a nasty surprise.

I'd use a fighter/sorcerer/Eldritch Knight build, although a ranger/sorcerer/EK would work. It all depends if you want a front line character or one that relies more on stealth.
