| Aluroon06-21-04, 05:36 PM | Looking though my older dnd books I came across The Complete Book of Villains for 2nd edition. Paging though it I grew slightly annoyed that the new material released by wizards has been so second rate (Example: Players Guild to Faerun  ). However thats not the point of this post. I just wanted to point out to dms, and roleplayers that the format it uses for character creation is quite comprehinisive. Further more the book has givin me great insights into how to play an evil character, and how an evil party would work. Anyway, I posted here because almost every other forem is just bozo min/maxers that would'nt apreciate the book. So I guess I just wanted to point it out and see what you all thought? Aluroon |

| The_Yellow_Dart_Swinger06-22-04, 10:09 AM | The first thing that came to mind when he said blizzard was the game company, I am going to assume that it must either be the author with a unusual last name or the publiser. From what I've heard from all over the boards is that people generally like the 3.x mechanics but they liked the 2nd edition flavor. Now if the could just combine the two... |
| Dauntless06-22-04, 02:28 PM | Or maybe he just meant "Wizards" and it was a mental slip? I have a copy of the book in question (I forget its exact title, but it was one of the blue softcover DM supplements) and it was very instrumental in providing me (a young neophyte DM at the time) information on making believable villains. |

Min/Maxer's can like flavor too! In general I liked the flavor of 2nd edition D&D. Specifically I thought The Complete Thief's Handbook, The Complete Book of Necromancers, The Complete Book of Elves, and the Campaign Source Book & Catacomb Guide were very good flavor wise. Anyway its been fixed. Here is some of the info you'll asked for: Yes it is the blue rules supplement It was (Written) by Kirk Botula Published in 1994 by TSR I'm not sure of you can order it now from somewhere, although I am sure that if you do a search on some aucton web site, or a search on an engine you can find a copy. Now I know why: even if the stats go dry, the fluff is always fresh. I read the old gods books for FR more than F&P! |
