| KingNeo10-05-05, 11:43 PM | So I am making a character for a friend. He is trying to make a character for the new campaign that I am about to start, when I finish the details. My challenge for them is to make a truely custom character. This theme being based more on the line finding truth about what a character is and what he possesses, than anything else. A good trade off for the characters to have access to more of the true magnificent powers of the Prophecy, which also part of the theme. So this is what the character has so far. Seeing how my friend is a big fanatic about nanoscience, as well as I, he has made two choices for races. The first race which is leading is the Warforged. The second race would be the Changling, with him becoming a construct by taking the prestige class in Magic of Eberron, but him nor I know if they become a Warforged or not. So if you have any information about if this prestige class makes them into a Warforge or not. The background he has for his Warforged character is this. This Warforged is not a Warforged of the present day, but of ages gone past. During the time of Giants his people were great, but he would never know for sure, he only see these things in his dreams. Yes, unlike others of his kind he can dream, like others of his kind could do before. But this is not the only weird thing, he doesn't even look like the Warforged created during the Last War. He looks human, from his skin to his face he looks human, or at least as close as human as he could get. He emerged from a gigantic Creation Forge, an ancient Creation Forge, infused with the ancient power that is the Dragonic Prophecy. But I am getting ahead. This Warforged name is Xel. He is a Warforged created using the full extent of the Creation Forge, and infused with the power of the Dragonic Prophecy. He can have dreams, unlike the other of his kind. And he looks almost completely human, healing and all. He has long hair with a bronze type metal fused with his hair. Has eyes that glow a soft blue. And has a bronzed steel sheen to his skin. Because of his connection to the Dragonic Prophecy he has the ability to change his body in a minor form, just like a changling. He also has great intellect and is a good fighter, and surprisingly has a knack for social expression. So while Xel is as magnificent as he is he still has to deal with some prejudice. He is a Warforged, and while his ability to change protects him form it, he still only hides what he is. He seeks acceptance for his kind and others, like everyone does, but it is hard for him. He is Warforged, but he looks mostly human, so some Warforged may not accept him. He could look like a regular Warforged, but then he would not be accepted as he would if he looked human, and if he looked completely human he would be accepted by humans, but hated by his kin. And the answer he seeks is "why him?". What makes him what he is and what is this strange power that flows through him? Yes, definaltely what is the power that flows through him? That is a question he must answer. So what do you think? This is only the things I could think of on top of my head, so I know I am missing detail. Also if you could what would be a good class for magnificent and poor Xel? |

Artificer is always a good class to consider, just because of the inherent heal ability it grants living constucts (infusions and the like). You might really try and mess with people and go Favored Soul, but that requires good Wis and Cha for spells, and their skill selection sucks. Monks are versitile, but there are a lot of class varients in Unearthed Arcana that would be worth looking at. What is the great power that resides in Xel anyway? Magic, Psionic, what? Just wondering. ~Rain~ |

Just wondering. ~Rain~ You know I considered the artificer, but the psychic warrior and wilder look like an appealing choice too, and you really can't go wrong with the wizard. But I have a little more about Xel so lets see what you think. Xel like any other Warforged is obsessed with learning, especially history, magic, psionics and his heritage, especially the creation of Warforged components. But he also wants to become the greatest warrior that has ever lived. So this is what I have for him. He will mainly be creating magical items and the like, as well as a lot of research for things to discover and explore, but his main passion would be too upgrade himself to greater transcendance through Warforged components. And he wants to become a great warrior. So I will probably be a artificer because of this, but you really can't go wrong with the wizard or wilder. Then I will become a Warforged Juggernaught later. Ok the great power that resides in Xel is a small semblance of power of the Dragonic Prophecy, and the ancient magic of the age of giants. So what do think of Xel development now. And what class should I pick. The Artificer looks like the obvious choice, but like I said before you really can't go wrong with the Wizard or the Wilder. So which of the three classes do you think I should pick, and I know that this seems like a stupid question, but I have ways of getting what I want through either three of the classes. I just want to stream line the process, for you can say, maximum effect and of course fun. |

I agree, not to mention as he gets higher in level he can eventually find out and undestand what he is, or in a case of extreme luck, uncover his birth forge or the secret of the powers vested within him. And a level or two of fighter wouldnt hurt for its proficiencies. If he was going for the greatest warrior thing |
