| Wonton200601-24-07, 09:22 PM | Yup, you heard that right. Not only that, but the Aasimar is a LG Paladin. Now, he's also a Gray Guard, which is why he teams up with the Tiefling in the first place. The Tiefling is CN, and a Rogue/Invisible Blade. This guy is adventuring with his much more charismatic ally because he relishes combat (think Belkar from OotS, but not evil) and he also was sick of people treating him like mud because of his rather obvious (he has horns) heritage. http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/MM35_gallery/MM35_PG209.jpg The Aasimar chooses to adventure with the Tiefling because he realises his combat potential, and because he's a Gray Guard, and therefore doesn't care as much if his ally is CN. What do you think of this? Any suggestions? |

What do you think of this? Any suggestions? Got a bard in the group? Because if so, it won't be hard to figure out why he is with you. That sort of pairing is the stuff legends or horror stories are made of. Sounds fun! |
| revaar01-26-07, 09:53 AM | a fun angle to play around with in this pairing is to have the aasimar attempt to reform the tiefling, while the tiefling tries to get the paladin to fall. It could end up being really fun for interparty conversation. |
| Adrian_Crane01-26-07, 03:07 PM | Or just have them do it in jest: Paladin using lay on hands: "Be healed by the power of good! And holiness! And...*goes on and on*...You know, I won't need to give this speech anymore if you just convert." Tiefling: *smiles sweetly and pulls out his earplugs, waves them about, and puts them back in* |
| Oren01-28-07, 03:59 AM | Why is this even an issue? Are you referring to the fact that the Rogue is CN? Because if so then yes, the Paladin will try to urge him to the side of justice. But simply because he is an Tiefling is no reason for the Paladin to need to be a Gray Guard to be around him. Paladins don't have to be racist. |

| Malzizipox01-30-07, 10:43 AM | Isn't this like one of those movies where the black guy and white guy get handcuffed together and have to survive some wacky hijinks while learning a thing or two about tolerance? In the end they get over their differences and become best of friends. |

It may not be the tieflings fault (victim of birth heritage), but the fact that he is part....umm....hell creature kinda make him clash with a normal paladin? They are racist toward evil beings, much as we'd like to say otherwise. Not to say the tiefling is evil....but the initial reaction would have to be whoa hold on there i WILL not party with him. In fact if he did it may not be on friendly terms. The Gray Guard thing allows for a much more friendly party dynamic. So, it seems like a pretty cool idea to me. Irish |
| AgentBlue01-30-07, 09:41 PM | This reminds me of one of my past campaigns. I was playing a samurai, and we had a ninja in the group. The samurai slowly found out what the ninja was doing, but he felt that the ninja was coming through at all the right times, and as long as he (the ninja) didn't do anything to the samurai or the party or anything obviously evil or dishonorable, he was ok in the samurai's book. Of course we had our spats and disagreements, but those made for some GREAT RP sessions. |
