| Giantslayer08-21-05, 08:03 AM | Hello again! So, my human devoted defender/weaponmaster is taking form, and will soon be scribled down on paper and be played. (hopefully, it'll kick off again next friday). For those that haven't read my previous posts, here's a fast re-cap: Human fighter/devoted defender/weaponmaster. LE. Bastard child, and only thinks about protecting his charge, which is his half brother, a sorcerer. Wields a BIG two handed sword, and has a comp.longbow. He will be the quiet type, seldom talking, and when he does, it's with his brother. Think silent bob..... high wisdom here people!!! His job, is to get things done. while others debate, he acts. for the first 2 gaming sessions or so, he will act indifferent to the rest of the party, but will accept them more and more, as time passes. His trademarks: A falcon tatooed over his face. Tribals tatooedon his chest, torso and arms. Cuts himself for every slain "sentient" foe, that has tried to attack his brother. ++QUESTION, we start at lvl 6, how many scars should he have when I start him??++ Does his weapon "forms" (ie practicing) each night before sleeping. Will act as a bodyservant and bodyguard for his brother. Any other ideas on habits and traits for him?? Name suggestions?? I'm totally stumped for a name, and I can't get the everchanging book of names to work on my computer... cya -me |
| Irishvampire08-21-05, 01:36 PM | Hmm.. I think that the number of scars is entirely up to you. If you think your brother has been attacked alot, maybe 30-40, less or more depending on frequency of attacks. |
| Morka08-22-05, 11:21 AM | If you have feats like Improved Disarm or Improved Sunder, it might greatly help to display opposition without too much bloodshed. If possible, maximize your Intimidate skill, it might be good to avoid a fight, or at least to report it ;). You don't necessary have to speak to Intimidate someone, just crack your knuckles... As for the name, it might be something like Silent Tom, or Zander the Quiet. |
| Fithero08-24-05, 08:06 AM | Hmmm, i remember reading about this character a while back, i think he is very interesting although i might suggest a few changes. He is lawfull evil....yet he cares so much for his brother that he seems like he would protect him to the death. Now unless he is sticking with his brother because he knows he will become powerfull by sticking with him (or some other slightly selfish reason) i think he would be more neutral than evil, even good maybe. If he is based on protecting his brother maybe he uses a shield or even a tower shield, to help cover his brother. Im not sure, the two handed sword just seems like its more of an offensive weapon than one used defensivley. Also, check out the Knight Protector in Complete Warrior, sounds like it would fit your character (if he was LN) As for the name, it sounds like from the tattoos and the savage/primative act of scaring himself that he was a tribal. Anything that sounds primative or dwarven (they sound like caveman names anyway) Anyway, thats my two cents. Later |
| Pryrates08-24-05, 01:13 PM | As Fithero said he doesnt sound evil probably neutral. unless their is a reason as to why thats his alignment (hopefully something more then "the rest of the party's evil") and if you change it to LN then definately go for Knight Protector from CW even if you are evil then your DM might allow you to tweak it a bit and let you play it as LE if hes ok with tweeking PrCs you might also want to think about the Thayan Knight (replace Thayan with wherever your from) its a decent class for the protector of a wizard/sorcerer. |
| Giantslayer08-24-05, 01:25 PM | Hm. it all boils down to how you define evil. I define evil as "selfish". And a person can be selfish, even though he cares DEEPLY for those closest to him. *looks at IRL history, alot of people who we're later defined as "evil" were loving to their families and friends...*. AND considering what steppes this bloke will take in order to protect his bro, and run his errands... he is MOST DEFINATELY evil... In what book is the thayan knight?? Unnapproachable east?? //Calle |
