Comments and suggestions to enrich or in any way enhance the background are appreciated :) Adrčfein Taedre Now a darkclad figure of the noblecaste, Adrčfein was born as the second son of Madessa, the sister of house Taedrex'nell's matron mother. From early youth Adrčfein was trained to become a warrior, as it had been descided before his birth that his role should be that of a house leutanant. Although he progressed as an average warrior, his father Tenądrem who was a court magician and a diplomat of considderable repute saw the potencial for a greater future for his ward. In secret, Tenądrem toutored his son in the arts of manipulation and subterfuge, and most importantly in the finer mechanics of drow soceiety, focusing on the secret rivalry between the houses and the church of Lolth, which he had long opposed in secret. For over thirty years the two practised and trained, and bonded to a level almost unique by drow standards. At the age of fourthythree Adrčfein graduated from his official academy of warfare. Caught by his obligations, Adrčfein had less time to devote to his fathers teachings, and embraced his new position with a honed hand, helped greatly by the teachings of Tenądrem. Only two years later, Tenądrem was forced to flee the city of XXX as the church had learned of his devotion to Vhaeron, a foul villany by drow law. Although they both knew that day would come at some point, Adrčfein was enraged, although his training allowed him to disguise his anger. Instead, his anger became a grudge and Adrčfein started to do what none had forseen nor any would know; he started blending his skills in subterfuge and combat, training personally in a remote ruin-complex in the lower parts of XXX. Apart from developing a fearsome and near unique combat style, Adrčfein established connections with some of the less exclusive members of the city. Among the most notable were an orc slaver by the name of Urglash, who he first clashed with, but later grew to accept as a useful resource. The two have later had a mutual relationship of favours, where Adrčfein aided Urglash in diplomatic matters in return for goblin slaves to help in Adrčfein's self-mentoring. Another eight years passed, and Adrčfein's position became that of a strategist instead of a battlefield leutanant. Remarkably bright as he was, Adrčfein took on this new task with exceptional skill, and often took but a few hours to lay down vast plans for skirmish attacks and defensive positions. Now able to complete his job in shorter time, Adrefčin was pleased to have more time at his hands, which he could devote to his own devious practise. Constantly growing in skill and power, Adrčfein eventually outmatched his goblin critter even in numbers, and realised it was time for a radical change. Although already well armed and equipped, Adrčfein had heard rumors of an arcane ritual that would bond a weapon to its wielder, thus enabeling powers beyond that of normal arcane weaponry. Adrčfein saw this as the tool that could lend him the edge he needed against the church he loathed and started in private to seach for this ritual in libraries and taverns alike. After four years of subtle investigation, Adrčfein found that he needed a perfectly forged weapon and then have it infused with his own lifeforce through a ritual that could only be performed by someone of notable arcane power. Although he knew many powerful magicians, it would be to risky to ask for their favour, seeing how he had little to contribute to their cause while in his current position. In this regard Adrčfein started his career of assassination, working in the guise of a fictional drow mercenary called Azeil Ralizou, but walking under the slogan of "darksting" for obvious reasons. |

A few hunters who he has defeated and perhaps even a foe he has escaped but not defeated.... To make that one really fun give his personal foe a legacy weapon or even worse have him already have undergone the ritual Adrčfein is looking into. |

Actually they don't see him as an enemy yet, as his grudge have simply grown within. That said, I think I will add in something about his mother and her reaction to his fathers death. And a nemesis could be fun, even one with the magical ritual (item familiar) already in place. Perhaps a previous slave to the mind flayer killed by his father? |
