If your character finds this new behavior to his liking, as a DM I would allow a permanent alignment change to CG if the amulet had been worn long enough. If it is removed after a short time I would probably shift your alignment to CN or NG depending on which aspect of the urges you found most enticing. If you are asking about the effect the amulet has on your character, rather than your personal choices as a player, I would say he has no knowledge of the change. The feelings he has while cursed seem natural to him. He would convince himself that past deeds were true to his current nature, perhaps by altering his perception of events. If others worked hard to show you the 'truth' of what you used to be, and they were serious about it, I would allow Will saves to begin fighting the curse. Until the curse is removed by normal methods, those Will saves would continue to be made from time to time as long as both the character and his friends are trying to restore your old self. |

If he thinks about action he did before having that amulet, he could think he was selfish, amoral, or strict. But now, he should claim to be a new man. He will probably make many new friends. When he will remove that cursed amulet, I think he should return to True Neutral. He will once again naturally want to keep his money for tomorrow instead of sharing it, use evil spells, or whatever a TN can do that a CG can't. Then he will have to think about which way of life he should favor. OTOH, if the amulet simly compel him to share all his money with poor peoples or other typically CG action, then he will remain True Neutral, but he will have to think about what is it to be CG while having no other choices. Remember the movie Ghost, when Patrick Swayze make Woopi Goldberg give 4 Million$ to some nuns? This is how he should feel. |
