So I'm about to play in a gestalt Forgotten Realms game. The party so far consists of a ranger/cleric goliath (NG), a rilkan fighter/scout (CG), a dwarf savage bard/barbarian (CG or CN), an aasimar druid/cleric (not sure on alignment, but I know he's got to be at least partly neutral), and a gnome illusionist/rogue (probably CN or CG).

I had thought of an azurin soulborn/paladin member of the Pentifex Order (from Magic of Incarnum), but I'm wondering if the Lawful Good-ness won't conflict horribly with the chaotic bent of the party.

I'm mainly asking if anyone's had any experience fitting a lawful-good character into a party of primarily CG and CN characters, and how they did?

There's no reason on Earth why all alignments couldn't work together with a little tact and grace. As long as your characters don't go hurting innocent people, he should be able to deal with their less orderly tendencies by letting them know "do what you will, but I won't be a part of it." For their part, they might rein in the insanity a little for your character's sake (and the protection that it affords them).

They all share a common alignment (good) so I wouldn't see many more problems than differences of opinion or strategy. You're probably not going to get into a heated battle just because they don't always do the lawful thing. Being lawful doesn't necessarily mean that you follow a governments or religions laws, often times it means that you follow your own code. Besides, even paladins can understand when the ends justify the means. And these kind of "predicaments" could give your character some dramatic tension, make him (or her) more human (or whatever race you are). I would almost want a slightly opposing alignment in this case. Much more interesting, IMHO.
