They can see the need for certain laws such as those against stealing or murder; however, they also understand the need for "justifiable defense", which is a choatic act. Also, they think laws such as "no parking on the left side of the road" or "No alcohol sales after 2:00 AM" as just plain silly and pointless. As for good and evil, they see most people just somewhere in between "super good" and "super evil". Certainly, people can act one way or another-being more good than evil or more evil than good; but all in all they are just normal folks. Personality wise, a True Neutral may have a racial bias against monsters that harmed him or his family in the past, but they might be willing to give other monsters a chance to be civil and friendly. A good example might be Ford & Arthur's conversation with the Vogon guard in Hitchhikers' Guide To The Galaxy. They might donate their extra cash to a worthy charity or they might go buy a round of drinks for everybody in the bar-it really depends on their mood. However, they are not fools. They know who is out to get them usually and will make sure to protect what they value (friends, family, money, etc). They just need to be convinced it is for the best to go after the monsters before the monsters come after him. |

Your job is to decide if any given scenario is upsetting that balance. For example, if a lich is close to finding a world killing artifact, the balance is in danger. If a kingdom begins conquering all the lands around them in the name of a god or ideal, the same is true. If, however, a band of orcs occupies a forgotten temple, they likely pose no threat to the balance. Good luck to you. --- My cat's breath smells like catfood. -JD |
