| chronocrosselite09-19-05, 11:44 PM | can someone give me better explanations/examples than they have in the PHB for the alignments? or at least a website? |
| The Smartest Lemming09-20-05, 07:04 PM | What exactly are you having problems with in the descriptions provided in the PHB? Is it a problem of not knowing what you want your characters alignment to be or...? Give us a little more to go on, so that we can possibly provide you with an answer. |
| chronocrosselite09-20-05, 09:21 PM | mainly about CN and how functional that character could work in a group full of good characters lol |
| Tiran09-21-05, 09:16 AM | If there's something to be gained for the character and if he's an equal member of the party (not being orderered around a whole lot) there's no problem whatsoever being CN in a good party. |
| The Smartest Lemming09-23-05, 02:31 AM | Two questions: 1) why exactly do you want to be chaotic neutral? is there any specific reason? It's not a bad choice, but why this character? 2) what is your interpretation of Chaotic neutral. Usually that is the best example anyone can give, because it is you playing the character, and unless your GM is extreamly strict about alignment you should not really have any problems playin a chaotic neutral or any other alignment however you want, within the reasonable boundries My take is that a person who is CN just basically does not like being told what to do, and doesn't really tell others what they should do. Now a CN person is not going to go into a town and look at the laws and doo the exact opposite, but he/she would have no problems breaking the rules if he/she felt like it. Hunting on the kings land, getting into a fight just because someone insulted him/her, stealing from another person, would all be ok with a CN person as long as that was how they were, not all CN's do it, but it is within the alignment. A CN would not go around randomly setting fires or poisoning peoples drinks, that would be more CE, nor would they nessicarily fight for someone elses rights, that would be more CG. The CN motto would have to be more along the line of you let me live my life however I want to and you can live your life however you want to, just as long as it doesn't impede me. |

Anything from a "Nobody's gonna tell me what to do" attitude to "No parking on the street after 10:00 PM? That's rediculious." However, they can form friendships and bonds, just like anybody else. The will usually back up their friends, but will also do what they want. Bugs Bunny is the iconic version of a CN character. IMO, the best CN characters understand laws against major crimes are sometimes needed; but they feel that it really is a matter of good manners not to steal, kill, lie, etc on a regular basis. |
