What do you do if base classes now longer meet new campagin ideas?
The answer is simple, make new ones or edit old ones.
But with every idea and action there is consequence.

I have been a fan of D&D for many years now and have participated in many rpgs but with new books and recent problems I needed to work out new classes and items.
The items were easy.
The classes were not.
I got thru the majority of the building of the class but then came to major problem.
The name.

This thread is to disscuss my classes and hopefully come up with a name.
I was calling it the "Unholy disciple of Tiamat" but it sucks.

Please just give ideas for a name.

The class is pretty much a fighter/cleric of tiamat who has draconic abilities and a focus on lunar concepts ( the culture the class comes from is on a different custom plane.)

Thank you for actually reading this and please leave some ideas.
No insults please.

Well, first of all, I have difficulties to understand need for new classes and why the mentioned fighter/cleric would not work...

As a suggestion, give them name that other people use of them. How do common folk see the classmembers? What are their views and opinions? I mean, when a guy sees a man in fullplate, he might say "That is a fighter!" or when the old bard is telling a story of strong and brave man who went total berserks on someone, he might call the guy a heroic barbarian. When a person comes to an inn, what will the people whisper? "I've heard of him... A servant of the dragon, they say.", or something. Well, that was just a guess as I don't know the class and didn't think for long, but I think that you can find a name when you think:
-What is their reputation. (ravager)
-Do they look diffrent than others? (eye of the gruumsh)
-How people mock them (paladin of tyranny)
-etc.

well although i appreciate what you said I would prefer to just hear some ideas on names.
This class is a part of a much larger cult of tiamat only a few people actually have levels in it.Its pretty much a uber priest(ess for female)
Id just like some suggestions

First off. i hope you mean to make this class a prestige class? I cant think of a lvl 1 uber priest of tiamat in any shape or form..

Second, If they are so few in numbers and so powerful, why not call them "Scion of Tiamat" I always love the word scion :P and i think it fits well for this class idea.

Lunar Knights

Clergy of the Waning Moon

Tiamet's Chosen

The Crescent Hand

Clerics of the Eclipse

Just to name a few. If you want, make a requirement for the class that you have to be female and call the the Sailor Scouts. lol. Just joking.

Np man. You can thank my son for this next one. He was watching the movie Babe (the one about the talking pig...) and those mice were singing "Blue Moon".

I figured you could dress those in the PRC in shining blue plate, call them the Curate of the Blue Moon.

Just in case you're wondering, a curate is curator or overseer of some sort.

Loose the attitude, any help is better than no help at all.

Pegasos989 offered you a lot better than you gave credit for. He/she suggested ways for you to come up with any number of names for the class on your own, and fit them to your campaign setting while you're at it. And your attitude was basically "Just gimme names or :censored: off."

Try to understand that an attempt to teach you how to solve your own problems is just as helpful (if not more so) than solving them for you. As the old saw goes, Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for life.

Teach a man to fish and you loose a valuble customer

But in the end he is correct. Customizing your own class is a difficult thing to do, but in the end the name is actually one of the important parts, it defines how the world sees your class, and that makes it something you should come up with your self.
