I'll be playing a bard/ur priest in eberron soon, and I might try and go for fochlucan lyrist some day too

So, pretty limited in alignment, she HAS to be neutral evil...

She's a friend of Greensingers too [DM required] (druidic sect wich is chaotic neutral and befriends with fey)

She'll have high knowledge skills (nature and religion + arcana and planes)

I'd love to find where can be evil in such a character, exept in the usual "end justifies the means" and in being a kind of prometheus, stealing fire (divine magic) from gods...

I have real difficulties finding out how and why neutral evil

Thanks

Evil takes many forms - callousness, bloodlust, greed, jealousy, even indifference - but it need not be all of these. I'd start with one of those base concepts (or something along those lines) and ponder what kind of evil your character represents before you determine how.

It takes some serious stones to pilpher magic from a being that can squish you on a whim. I imagine that becoming an Ur priest is either an act of egotism, narcissism, revenge, or some combination thereof. Any or all of those could be facets of your character's evil nature.

Maybe she has a grudge against the gods? Perhaps they failed or slighted her in some way? If she's also the egotistical/narcissistic type, she might actually believe she was deliberately and personally singled out.

Also, think about what has happened to her while she was a bard - in other words, before she was an Ur priest. I don't think people are born evil, per se, so something has to happen down the line that influences them in one direction over another. When did it happen? Was it one event, or (more likely) a series of events?

Well, best of luck!

You're right, I need to define it step by step...

There will be a part of extremism in her vision of "good" I guess... kind of "you cut a tree, i cut your leg", but a little more elaborate

She could have been an ashbound druids friend but given they hate both arcane and other divine...

So, Ur priest... *reading the flavor text*
Well, in Eberron, it would be more a "See, there is no god, I spit on all their names every morning, and I can use your so called divine magic... Oh you won't agree... fine"...given Eberron gods are not clearly defined as corporeal entities, but are instead really abstract

Then, the evasion prerequisite makes me use "divine oracle" PrC... Easy, thirst of knowledge blends well with divination... Not evil at all

How to say... (I'm french) Dominatrice... Won't show it, but she's really thrilled when she proves someone wrong, or have him metaphorically kneel before her (in combat or with fast talk)

The easy thing is the use of some clearly evil spells... Why ? Because they are efficient, pragmatic girl... (feys can have a wicked humor sometimes, given they are immortals... I'll try to find spells that suit this)

Still, she'll be an altruist, nature defender, but will be very offending to all clerics and "godbounds" (heh, fochlucan "unbound" class feature, so sad I'll play in french)... Druids are allright, they pray no deity

that seems right...
Oh, she'll have a very close friend (leadership feat, a feytouched spellthief)... If anyone hurts her/him (not decided yet)... Well, dark side should show up quite obviously

(we have those two way rings of shield other, so cute...)

Anything else to refine this ?

(the character should go bard 5/mindbender 1/Ur Priest 2/Divine Oracle 2/Sublime Chord 2/Fochlucan Lyrist X... the mindbender dip is just coherent with the "I love to prove people wrong" thing)

Hey, that all sounds fantastic. You're really starting to get into her head, into her mindset. I like that. And I think the word you're looking for is Dominatrix. ^_^

I'm glad you haven't decided to take her to the extreme with her evil alignment. A lot of people think that evil characters love to murder innocent people and are always coming up with schemes to rule the world or destroy an entire nation or something like that. Evil people can be just as simple as good people.. just a little less morally confined. ^___^

I like the "you cut a tree, I cut your leg" part. Thats the kind of borderline evil that people justify to themselves. She sounds a little jaded and disillusioned. Perhaps even selfish, but she is of course still human so she has friends and allies. Seems to me she likes the easy route, and if that means doing something a little evil to accomplish what she needs and wants, then so be it.

Great work! Bonne chance,
