I have just found a new gaming group, and have decided to make a moon elf who will be going Bladesinger (from Races of Faerun, not Complete Warrior). Here is some background so far:

Description: A slender moon elf stands confidently before you. His shoulder-length silver-white hair sways lightly on an unfelt breeze, brushing against his forest-green tunic, which at first glance seems extremely simple in cut. Upon further inspection, the elf’s clothing is indeed of fine make and quality, as are the rapier, dagger, and longbow strapped to his body. Four pouches hang from his belt, as does a large book etched with silver and engraved with golden runes of an unknown language. He glances about curiously, his deep green eyes sparkling with golden flecks and a smile on his lips. You get the feeling this elf is both a skilled swordsman as well as an aspiring mage.

Background: Ammonath Ardinorya was trained from an early age in the art of mixing sword craft with mage craft, forming a deadly combination in the form of a bladesinger, an ancient and exquisite art from elven past. But there is only so much one can learn in practice before having to venture out into the world and test one’s skills.

Deciding to head to the human metropolis of Waterdeep, Ammonath hopes to find new friends, new experiences, and test his skills against the perils of the world.

Adventuring Goal: Ammonath’s claimed reason for adventuring is to try new things, see new places, and meet new people. However, he has a secret reason that he tells to no one. Ammon’s parents died to an invasion by drow, who emerged from the Underdark to ambush his mother and father, slaying both of them. The drow strike force was lead by a sinister dark elf commander named Mazonat Gashnar, who personally tortured the two parents for no other reason than for pleasure. Ammon, then only a child, was forced to watch his mother and father draw their last, painful breaths, and was then left behind at the mercy of the forest.
Ammon strives to become powerful enough to hunt down Commander Gashnar and show him just what a helpless elven child can do.

Characteristics:
Reason for wishing to become a bladesinger: It was natural. Ammon showed great proficiency in both the sword and the spell.

What did his parents/friends/community think of it? A bladesinger is a well-respected member of elven society, so no one had any problem with Ammon’s decision, even if it was a bit presumptuous.

Likes: Ammon loves traveling to new places, be it the top of a mountain or the Underdark. He enjoys meeting new people, discovering new things, and testing his ability. He enjoys sparring, as well as riddles and puzzles.

Dislikes: Ammonath hates staying in one place for long periods of time, and, if required to do so, will take frequent walks out into the wilderness to get a change of scenery. While he is very accepting of other races with different views, he hates drow.

Bad habits: Ammonath has a tendency to be somewhat inconsiderate of others, something he tries to remedy, but with which he still has problems. He will play his flute during the early hours of the day when he is done meditating but others are still sound asleep. He also has a tendency to take sparring practice far too seriously.

I would like some more ideas and suggestions. If it helps, this is what I have planned for level progression:

1 Swashbuckler 1
2 Swashbuckler 2
3 Wizard 1
4 Swashbuckler 3
5 Wizard 2
6 Wizard 3
7 Wizard 4
8 Wizard 5
9 ????
10 Bladesinger 1
11 Bladesinger 2
12 Bladesinger 3
13 Bladesinger 4
14 Bladesinger 5
15 Bladesinger 6
16 Bladesinger 7
17 Bladesinger 8
18 Bladesinger 9
19 Bladesinger 10
20 ????

For the ???? levels I am thinking either two more levels of wizard or something else.

My stats are:
Str: 12
Dex: 20
Con: 13 (one of my highest ever for a non-major fighter)
Int: 17 (to be bumped to 18 at level 4)
Wis: 17
Cha: 17

So, any suggestions, either on the mechanics or flavor side of things?

I am somewhat surprised that no one has responded, not because I am overconfident in my writing ability, but because I believe this story needs a lot of work.
