| TheAnthroDM02-05-07, 01:06 AM | So anyways I'm joining a new campaign on Saturday and I'd like some imput on the following character concept. Antina Ke Kor "Anti, The Dark Daughter of Pelor" Warlock/Cleric/Eldritch Disciple CG Half-Elf Warlock 1 Description: Anti is a young half-elf with long black hair and striking green eyes and a very youthful face(ever by half-elf standards), she is slightly more musclar than is common(by human standards, not half-elf). Her body is otherwise very light, smooth and elvish in appearance. Her nails carry the same green color as her eyes and she clothes herself in a rough black cloak, which falls over her night black chainmail shirt. Carrying a morning star on her right side pure black with a green wrap around it's handle. History/Backstory: Antina Ke Kor has an interesting family tree. Her paternal grandfather was a Half-Orc Sorcerer who venture into the Nine Hells and soul his made a pact with powerful devil lords, in return to spending his entire afterlife serving the demon lords they would grant him more power than he could imagine. Unfortunately for him he was brought down by a group of adventuring Paladins on a few years later, but in that time he managed to father a child, Anti's father. The power the devil granted him was passed down in his faimly, but Anti's father Demar Kay Kor. Demar took a less devilish path to power, but was power hungry none-the-less, he became severly wounded in failed temple raid, and almost fell victim to the same fate as his father were he not saved by a wandering druid, many days in the Sun Druid Anastrianna Amastacia care. Ana refused to heal Demar with her magic because of his dark ways, but helped him to natural recovery, after Demar had recovered he attempted to kill Ana, but was unable, none of hi eldritch power ever hit her. He feld and a few days later found he was unable to use his power, he had fallen in love with the druid, and could no longer summon the dark power, he returned to the grove and spent many months trying to convince the Druid of his genion intention. Eventually the love became mutual and Ana and Demar had a child: Antina Ko Ker, Half Elf, One-Eighth Orc, Three-Eights Human she didn't particularly enjoy the way of her mother, but still held respect for the Sun God she worshiped, she soon began to develop the dark powers of her forfathers and her mother, afraid this would reawaken the dark side in her father sent her away once she was able to fend for herself. As soon as Anti left home she found herself serving in a Church of Pelor, the sun God her mother worshiped simply by the name "The Sun of Life" she managed to keep her power a secret from the rest of the church but contiued to develop them, convinced that Pelor might be able to save her from the fate her grandfather set down for his entire bloodline in that hellbound pact. Personality: Anti is abit naive and sheltered when it comes to the ways of those born in the city, having went been raised in the wild and then send in the church she does not have an eye for tricks and often assumes when something bad happens it's a result of her own eldritch power going hawire. However on the subject over her faith and upbringing she is very agressive, a quality that often causes her to eat her own words when goign wit to wit with a true scholar. On the other hand Anti is very protective and if anything all to quick to cast CLW on a wounded ally, however she her agressive nature often causes her to go on random sprees of eldritch blast in battle before reverting back to her normal protective behavior. Anti is also very defensive over her power and takes the time to mimic the motions of spellcasting while she summons the power for her invocations. Other Notes: She has fake names for all her invocations to make them appear sounds more like divine spells, IE "Inflict from Afar" for Eldritch Blast. Quotes: Even the sun casts a shadow... Light, Destroy Darkness? No, without Darkness there is no Light, and without Light no Darkness, they are one.... We are one |
| dorkknight2302-06-07, 02:57 PM | Ok, I really like your character concept, but some minor issues. First off, she should be 1/2 elf, 1/8th orc, 3/8ths human (1/2th+1/8+7/8=12/8 or 3/2. Not a proper fraction :).) Some minor spelling errors, but if you don't mind those, I won't hold them against you. Character idea: So, she has kind of a mean streak, but still wants to help people? Maybe she has, besides an inborn kind of rage, a sort of righteous indignation towards evil and those that take advantage of others (it could be her "orcish temper.") She tries to keep her impulses in check, but has problems not flinging eldritch blasts at evildoers. She might even be reluctant to use her warlock powers when she hasn't lost her temper, believing them to be a manifestation of her grandfather's past transgressions (which they are,) and she'd probably want to prove herself to be a good person for what she does, rather than what her grandfather did. Family matters (who you're father is, if you're half-orc or half-fiend or half-dragon) should matter much less than the person's character. Hope that helps. |

The character you described here seems to me to have a low wisdom score. If you're character is a cleric, you may want to roleplay her with a more patient attitude, perhaps a dark quiet side to reflect on her fiendish heratige. Right now you're describing a rash, slightly naive character, more common to someone who has a high charisma but not the wisdom to go with it. You should be the more quiet leader type, that or choose a class that relies less heavily on wisdom (If you could alter your story some, archivist would work, and you could have learned some druidic spells from your mother. Or if your DM would be willing to make a small change, your could have the favored soul rely completely on charisma.). In any case, you might consider altering your characters personality to that of someone slightly more rational and reflective. Otherwise, I think this is a really cool idea. I like her struggle to overcome her destiny that was passed down to her by her grandfather's actions. Oh, and warlocks have to be either chaotic or evil, so NG is a no-go. |

| trickydevl66602-08-07, 08:18 PM | You put NG in your first post, probably just a typo. But I did read the eldritch disciple requirements, and it requires the deity you worship to be chaotic or evil. But you might be able to convince your DM to waive that... |

But you might be able to convince your DM to waive that... I noticed thanks, and yes I already convinced my DM to waive the ED requirement.(After all being the only one with healing spells he's not likely to want to prevent me from my Spells and Healing Blast XP) |
| Manic Man02-14-07, 03:52 AM | Light, Destroy Darkness? No, without Darkness there is no Light, and without Light no Darkness, they are one.... We are one Muhahaha, so many good aligned characters have fallen because they felt the same way. Hopefully your DM puts in some philosophical (sp) problems for you. It would be fun as long he does it not to screw you over. |
| camirblu02-15-07, 05:44 PM | True 'nuff. An all-good campaign can turn evil quickly if they don't have a unifying focus to fight against. Not always true, but it's one of the dangers of lacking balance! |
