Burningspear 06-18-05, 06:58 PM	me and my gaming buddies wil start a new campaign, the allowances are: lvl 8 char. 84 points for stats, 1on1 +2 points for lvl4 and 8 1 bonus feat, and 1 bonus skill at lvl 4 for char building the campain is based around Silverymoon, and i want my char to come from the wheel of time world, and become a wolfbrother(with out the planehop ab.) and i want to specialize in the rifle (blackpowder) i have difficulty playing a char without any spellcasting abilities as i think a char without such misses something in background capabilities so can anybody give me suggestions how i can make a char interesting in background abilities without becoming a caster?(background ab. like research of spells, creation of magical items..) i also want to add the touch of char to it by taking the movie : Quigly down under thnx in advance
braindead345 06-20-05, 12:33 AM	Personality quirks is going to be key. I'm not sure what you mean by the "Quigly Down Under" bit. I assume you meant Tom Selleck's character being more of an outsider/pro-enviroment type. How about a fighter that is adverse to bloodshed? He uses only bludgeoning weapons. Or you could have your own personal code such as "I do not kill kobolds" or "I only do battle during daylight." Any phobia is fair game...how about having your fighter run screamming at the sight of spiders? Once, I played a half-elf ranger/wizard multiclass with a 7 Con. DM made light of it by having NPC's ask me if I was feeling alright and making sure I had eaten. Oddly enough, in Return to The Temple of Elemental Evil he was the next to the last one to die. Smart playing on my part and with my 17 Str & 16 Dex, I was quite handy with a mighty composite longbow.
Burningspear 06-20-05, 12:14 PM	the Quigly part was a hint to his fighting style, with a rifle, and some pistols... i also want to have a backgrounds with wolves...and the wolfbrother prestige class, and probably the -order of the "rifle"initiate tweaked for long range sniping....(prereq. i mean..) as to stats and quirks, i havent reall decided yet...lol but con 7??? i am allowed to allocate all my points on stats by myself... so at least 17 dex at lvl 1 and wis 15, bolth to be heightened by 1 on lvl 4 and 8... he is noy a really social type as his only social life is with the wolves :) so i guess cha 11 or less
