| Quijin02-05-04, 06:01 PM | I am planning on playing an Apostle of Peace character that has the highest diplomacy check possible... (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=163146&highlight=diplomacy) I was wondering if anyone could help me come up with a different and new kind of back story that would explain why he does not fight and took up the path of Apostle of Peace. I was hoping for something other than the normal rape or abused parents situation, we get extra XP for good Character history. I was thinking my character a ghandi type of character since he has the Vow of Poverty feat. Any advice/imput is very much appreciated, I feel this new non-violent character will bring some truly genious ideas to the board..... but that is just me. -Quijin:tiphat: |
| Bladesinger Boy02-06-04, 12:00 PM | What about a good warrior type (maybe Paladin) that has such strong morality he realises that true goodness lies in giving up all violence. Swords to plowshares. Or a LG Monk that is so devoted to his teachings that he can't harm a living thing (he is trying to achieve enlightenment after all). A successful merchant who now has given up all worldly possessions and spreads compassion while traveling around the world. A Good or Neutral or Evil general so swayed by a horrible massacre caused by his troops that he gives up the sword and becomes a peace-making diplomat. --- Back on the high Diplomacy side of things: a) good Charisma score b) +2 Sacred Vow c) +2 Half-Elf d) +2 synergy from 5 ranks Knowledge (Nobility & Royalty) e) +3 Skill focus??? f) +2 Diplomacy and Spellcraft from Courteous Magocracy??? |

| Quijin02-08-04, 03:38 PM | for race i am human, lawful good and it is a custom world, where we are nobles/merchants trying to make a place for ourselves in the world |
| queronte02-08-04, 07:47 PM | Ok. Let's see if I can give some sugestions: 1 - You were a paladin, who used to fight against the evilness. Everywhere, everyone trusted that your weapon will bring death to all your enemies. An evil one will never survive at your hands. More than a paladin of justice, you become a paladin of goodness, but in someway you also become blind to your own acts. Your hands were full of blood, so many kills - maybe your god send you a message, a dream, or even worse, you made a great act of misjudging. Now, you will never bring death again to this world... you renegade your old ways, no armor, no weapons, no more kills, no more mistakes. The only way to never miss again is hold a weapon nevermore. Become a monk is a good way, because you can do nonlethal damage and stun enemies, without break your vows, but not the only way. 2 - Ever a monk. The "Bladesinger Boy" suggestion. You are an ascetic. Your believes, your teachings are your way to enlightment. 3 - Your god is something like Rao (from Greyhawk). Mercy, Peace, Humilty are their ways. Maybe your birth bring good oens to your parents, some birthsign that connects you to your godness (stigmata?). You act almost like a avatar, following your god behavior. With the merchant/noble background, you can do something like San Francisco... maybe a cleric, then. 4 - A psionic can search enlightment too... your vows are your way to achieve this. Maybe I can have better ideas... but now this are my 2 cents. :) |
