| wyatt09-23-06, 06:11 PM | ok so i died and am remaking as an ardent. I want this character to be totaly about the balance of life and death(hence his two starting mantals are life/death) i was wondering how i would go about playin this character. I was thinking about being NN because he is about balance so law, chaos, good, and evil need to be balanced for him. Problem is that i dont want him to be to judgmental about people's fates. I dont know how im going to work this out. Any help will be nice. |

They challenged each other over who could make the better sword, and both worked for months on end to try and make the best. In the end, they decided that they needed to test the swords against each other. So, they dipped each one in turn into a river. Muramasa's sword cut everything that crossed it, leaves, fish, even the air that blew past it. Masamune's sword cut nothing, leaves floated around it, fish swam right up to it without injury, and the wind hissed passed it. Muramasa mocked Masamune on his creation of an apparently worthless sword. As he did so, he left his sword out but Masamune returned his to his scabbard after meticulously drying it. A monk who saw the event appeared and bowed to the two great swordsmiths. He explained that whilst Muramasa's sword was indeed a very powerful and well-crafted sword, Masamune's was the best because it did not harm anything unnecessarily or that was innocent, whilst Muramasa's sword was probably as good at killing butterflies as it was at severing heads, without discrimination. Perhaps that could be an element for this character, to be powerful without needless injury. That could be his ethos in fact, "I kill not because I can, but because it is necessary. If given the opportunity, I would sit and drink with my enemy rather than throw him down in battle". A character like this is all about necessity, he doesn't speak unless it is necessary, he doesn't sleep unless it is necessary, and he most certainly doesn't fight unless it is necessary. I could easily see him having a long list of abstinences to emulate this belief. |

They are kinda like domains for a cleric but they reflect the characters beliefs in life. They arent all about balance but thats what im making my character out to be. I only recently found psionics and i have to say that i am in love with psionics. |
