I would like some feed back on some history I made for a PC I will soon be playing, I am mostly concerned with weather or not this story fits in with the D&D world, but all suggestions are welcome. Also I will go ahead a apologizes for any spelling/grammar errors I made have made below, I have just never been a good writer.

August III, the Favored Son of Iasiss: To better understand August one need to understand where he comes from. Below is the legend of the City of Iasiss.

The Legend of Iasiss

Long ago, Pelor, the sun god, took mortal form to survey the creatures of material plane to determine if they where worth his looking after. While setting up top a hill Pelor was attack by a group of three men, whom wanted to mug him. Pelor having nothing to give these evil men was beaten to within an inch of this mortal life. The muggers left Pelor to die. About this time a poor woman divorced by her husband because she was sterile came upon the dieing deity. The woman told him to her humble home where she prayed for him and nursed him back to health. Upon being healed Pelor took the woman back to the spot where she had found him. There Pelor reviled himself to the woman and spoke to her; “Your kindness has restored my faith in the creatures of this world, I will now return to the blue sky and keep watch over everything under my sky. But before I go I will bless with a child of the gods, this child shall be named Iasiss. He shall build me a great temple on this spot! And many with sickness of the body, mind, and faith, shall flock to this temple where they shall be healed!” With this Pelor departed from the material plane.

Nine months later, on the summer solstice the woman give birth to a planetouched child, which she named Iasiss. Iasiss did as Pelor has stated and built a grand temple to the Sun, and several sick came to be healed and they where! These healed by Pelor, built a City around Pelor's Grand Temple. Iasiss Became the first king of this new city. When Iasiss died on the winter solstice; leaving the care of the Temple and City around that temple to his son, August the Shinning King. August named the City after his father, Iasiss. While his father life was built around the creation of the city that bears his name, his son's life was establishing the laws and traditions of that city. His biggest accomplishments where setting up a holy monarchy so that all rulers of the city where planetouched, Aasimars, who could trace their history back to Iasiss. August also established two centers of learning the first a clergy to formally train clerics of Pelor, and the second a university to feather the study of the sun and sky.

Iasiss today

Today the City of Iasiss is still visited each year by millions of sick who are healed in the streets by the city large number of clerics. All temples in Iasiss worship Pelor, with the grandest located in the center of the city. Atop this grand pyramid is a stone with the daylight spell permanently cast upon it. This lights up the center of the city 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Around the The Grand Temple of Pelor are the rings of Iasiss a circular ring that catches the sun in a box twice a year at the Summer and Winter solstices. On these two days the city is shut down with celebrations. The current King of Iasiss is Phillip, the kind. Phillip one son is August III.

August III

August III, has know all his life that one day he will rule Iasiss, but has always longed for more. August, has aways felt the need to leave Iasiss and do good for the world as a whole before he takes the thorn. To this end he has taken up training as a Paladin of Pelor, and has left his beloved city with his trusted aid, Seven (a Cleric of Pelor), and five servants hoping to do good to the world before he returns home.

More facts about August III:
August while good hearted is a little bit of a snob and is accustomed to being served.
August's two favored role models also are his name sakes, August I, and August II. August II is best remembered for leading the armies of Iasiss on a great quest to rid the material plane of undead.

Well, I think being the heir apparent of the throne of a whole city and the descendent of Pelor is a background that I'd be hesitant about, were I a DM.

I'd like to know a bit more about Iasiss's mother, the woman who saved Pelor. We never even find out her name.

Overall, I feel like there's not enough on August III himself. I get no sense of him. I know about his city, and his lineage, but I know nothing about him, as a person, besides that he's a bit of a snob. What distinguishes him from the rest of his line? How is he different from "generic member of the lineage of Iasiss?"

Thanks JulesCARV for your review, I have added some more information about August below, I hope this will help you get a better picture of him.

But your question have given me a few question of my own:
1) How can I make it clear that while August bloonline was touched by Pelor, he is not a descendent of Pelor?

2) What do you what to know about the woman who saved Pelor, other than a name (which I omitted just because I could not think of a good one)?

3) You said you be hesitant accepting my backstory, I have to wonder why? Given this information: the setting of the game will be far away from Iassis.

When exploring or when there is a high chance of combat August wears his Full Plate amour. This set of amour is keep buffed so it shines brightly, Across the breastplate symbol of Pelor encrusted in gold. August also carries a heavy metal shield, the front of the shield has a white painted background with another symbol of Pelor encrusted in gold in the foreground. August's mount is a great white stallion, when able August will fight mounted using a lance. This weapon he has became quite familiar with through precipitating in jousts.

August is very concerned with social classes, which makes him a little bit of a snob. He is accustomed
to being served, and that is why he has five servants adventure with him. These servants jobs are simple task, that August fills he to important to have to do himself, such as set up/taking down camp, cooking his meals, tending to the mules (which carries most of his equipment). Aside from this August is very charitable and is helps all in need regardless of their wealth or power.

August is not typical of the members of his line, in that he has no great desire to become king. He enjoys doing things himself rather then managing the actions of others. August father is a more typical of recent member of the lineage of Iasiss, in that he is content in ruling and does not get why his son wants to leave Iasiss.

I don't really have any specifics about the woman that I'd like to know -- it's just that if she's the mother of an entire bloodline of planetouched kings, and the chosen of Pelor, she might be a somewhat important figure, an impression that I really didn't get.

Anyway, as for my hesitation, I meant that being a crown prince is a rather powerful background. Your character, starting out, is wealthy, famous, and has family connection which could be of great use. If your DM is running a game like that, far be it from me to stop him or her, but I'm just saying that I would worry if I were a DM and a player gave me such as background story.

Anyway, I'm confused now -- he likes doing things himself, rather than managing others, but he doesn't like doing things himself, so he has five servants do his bidding?

What I have in mind for this character is that he does not like doing mondane things himself. examples: cooking dinner, cleaning up dinner, setting up camp, etc.

But on the other hand he like doing things himself when it come to fighting the orcs outside the city or healing the poor in the street.

Bassically if in the mind of my pc if the tast has glory, reward, or challenge he wants to do it himself. But if the task is dull or mondane he wants others to do it for him.

I hope this clear up my character for you.

I also like to say thanks for your input on my character background.
