I'm going to be playing a Human Bard in a soon to start campaign and am having some difficulty coming up with a back story. The setting is Greyhawk and we are starting at 1st level. I have a fairly clear idea for the characters personality. I can't really think of how to explain him but I can tell you this: I explained myself into some free Mithral Breastplate; however after careful thought about my ideas of the character (and some carrying capacity issues) I gave that up for some +2 Bracers of Armor(Don't tell me, I know that they have a smaller bonus). I guess you could say he prefers freedom of movement (Like a monk except no real reason behind it). Also I would like to leave lots of plot hooks without any traumatic experiences. I would also like to find the closes possible Greyhawk equivalent to Fearun's Lliira for a deity.
