We're starting at level 12 as well, so I need a pretty extensive backstory for my character. The basic idea is he's a bard dedicated to knowledge. He is trying to study the various dangerous creatures of the world in order to write a book categorizing them and giving a basic rundown of what to expect when you run into them. Basically, the Monster Manual. He tends towards practicality instead of grand spells or magic items. Robes of useful items, bags of tricks, etc. are the gear he carries around. His weapons are an adamantine flaming morningstar and a cold iron ghost touch longsword (he figures that is the best combination). His spells tend toward summoning monsters because of his familiarity with htem, but he also has a lot of divination so he can always learn more. For the record, this is Forgotten Realms. (I personally have no love for the setting, but it's where I'm playing, so I have to deal) |
