| stupnick03-26-07, 12:49 PM | please help!!! i need some help writting a greyhawk character background. i know nothing of the setting. my character is a level 5 woodelf barb1/ranger4 going to wildrunner, stats are 14,19,12,8,8,14. Feats are weapon finesse and elven weapon familiarity.. he uses the Elven Courtblade, and primarily melee's he did take the ranger bow path, since he is a twohanded weapon user. he also took both the 1st and 4th elven ranger substitutions, so he has servents of lolth as favored and an elven hound as his animal companion. not sure if i can provide any other info.. but i am so drawing a complete blank on trying to come up with anything |

| Shalaska03-26-07, 05:49 PM | I prefer making the backstory after the character as well, because the rolls don't allways fit in with the backstory you had in mind. Now I create the character with a certain idea, but i meld the backstory to the finished product, not meld the product to the story. Now I would love to help but I know nothing of the setting as well :( . However, if I learn anything of the setting soon I would be glad to help. Here is one quick idea though. He was stolen at birth by a group of barbarian nomads who lived in the woods. There he was raised into his teens where he learned the ways of the barbarian. Then in his teens the woodelves finally found the tribe and took him back. He was initially hostile to the elves, but as they showed him nothing but love and respect, he began to find himself growing closer and closer to them. Eventually he learned their ways, and being used to the nomadic lifestyle of the barbarians it was not long till he found himself training with the elven rangers learning their ways and living out in the nature he had grown so fond of. I don't know if that helps at all but that is all I got right now. |

| stupnick03-27-07, 05:55 PM | yeah i normally create the character with a semi background in mind.. then i do it into great detail, they character was designed for another game that didn't go anywhere. so i was adapting him to this one. but i can't for the life of me think of a background. the problem with the stolen at birth is he was ranger 1, then barb, then finished ranger.. more of a wild tracker type.. |
