starting a level 1 game tommorow with some old friends. i've mapped out the build for my character but i'm coming up short on background and personality for him. i'm a human scout at level one but i will be finishing 11 ranger/4 scout/ 5 dervish, dual wielding scimitars at level 7. ill be the skill monkey, tracker, point man and back up melee to the barbarian. favored enemy will be undead next level and i think the campaign may start with an undead theme anyways. i try to make my characters have some similarity to my personality but i usually twist it in one direction or another. i'm thinking somewhere along the lines of "the sole surviver of my village after an undead attack". i wandered aimlessly in the forest, a shatered man until my despair dissapated and all that was left was a primal hunger for VENGENCE!!! with my village gone, i have little fear and i believe i have nothing left to loose. my body has become a physical manifestation of hate, the instrument of my retribution. so i travel the lands searching for the cause or the culprit of my villages demise. my quest takes me to a small town which unsettles me at first. the last 6 months in the woods has droven me near mad or at least semi-feral. the sight of other humans reminds me of the family that was taken and the humanity i nearly lost. finding new friends with similar goals and out looks painfully reminds of my deceaced friends and family but also takes some of pain away. maybe there is more to life than revenge but for now my eyes and heart can see little else.

geez i guess i got inspired..... i might as well go with that background :D . at some point in the game because of the dervish dancing i will get to say. you ever dance with the devil? its the dance of death!!! or you'll meet him soon but not before i cut in  .... ok that was cheesy but you get the idea.

seriously tho if anyone has ANY thoughts, ideas or suggestions i would REALLY appreicate them. thanks

Make his forest period longer, about a year.

When he was in the forest, he felt a peace he had never felt before.Even though he was mourning he felt the whole forest shared his sorrow.
Watching the happy birds and animals made him feel some comfort and he understood that life must go on no matter what. Now forests feel like home to him and it's creatures his kin.Humans are only secondary now, his losses has made him shy of making more human relationships.Only nature is eternal he thinks.
