Hello everybody... I am going to play a wild elf ranger 3/bard 2 with a thing for dragons (I am actually thinking of taking the Dragon Disciple PrC) and I need a nice story to link the choices... I was thinking something like:
Shelaethar was born in a wild elven settlement in Chessenta (forgotten realms) from a young age he felt apart from other children, mainly because of his dark silvery skin... He was generally well-liked and he got on very well with the other elves but he prefered solitude that the company of those that he felt so apart from... That is why he decided to take on the ranger class... But as the years went by he begun to see that his skin color was not the actual reason that he felt so apart from the others. The reason for that was because he always felt that he had something, a destiny or a potential, that he thought couldn't be fulfilled if he continued to live in the settlement... That thought was mostly spowned by weird dreams that he has been having. Being ashamed of his thought and not wanting to confront the others he packed one day and left leaving just a note with some of his confused thoughts. After traveling for some years, tryin in vain to understand his self and sort out his dreams, he found an elderly human bard lost in a forest. He helped him and found that he liked the man's companionship and craft. He asked the old man to tutor him in his ways and he agreed. Together they traveled a lot. Finally Shelaethar understood that his dreams were guiding him so that he could reach his full potential. After some years while the were visiting the capital of Impiltur (that's were our campaign starts), the old man passed away leaving Shelaethar alone. He decides to start adventuring in order to understand the true meaning of his dreams and becoming all that he can... So... What do you think about it? Is it too cheesy or whatever? Any suggestions? Now, about the role-playing side... His patron deity is Tymora, who was his tutor's patron deity too. He fights with a two-bladed sword and he generally tends to refer to dragons a lot, on conversations, on battle cries or in everyday events (like "by the great gold wyrm you scared me, friend!") and comparisons ("tricky as a black one that boy..."). Any suggestions here? Well... That's about it... Please tell me what you think about it...

Don't make him a ranger because he feels appart, almost every wild elf is ranger! If you are a bard, and plan to be a dragon disciple, you should have a very high charisma, so you should have some facility to bluff and intimidate the rest of your tribe. For this, other wild elves would ostracize you, and it should be the reason why you were alone when you encounter the eldery bard.

Also, you should find right now what kind of dragon you will be. Instead of refering indiferently to gold or shadow dragon, you should right now feel the specific dragon blood in your veins.

I will most likely choose silver dragon... I was thinking to go for a half-elf... But half-what elf? Any ideas? Also, we really need a ranger in our group so and it fell upon me becase I was the last to make a character...
