| the_force_is_with_me02-26-08, 01:09 AM | My character is a Dwarven Cleric following Fharlanghn. Leaving his home-town in the mountains to travel the roads(extremely shortened backstory). What unusual weapon would a Dwarven Cleric use when... Farlaghn GIVE ME STRENGTH! *Running* FOR FARLAGHN! |
| Orchomenos02-26-08, 11:42 AM | What unusual weapon would a Dwarven Cleric use when... Farlaghn GIVE ME STRENGTH! *Running* FOR FARLAGHN! A flying carpet? Boots of Haste? A light horse? |
| The_Shaman02-26-08, 12:45 PM | A lasso, or a set of bolas, would be weirdest imo - and a way to deny mobility to his enemies would be strangely fitting for a cleric of the god of roads. I could also imagine him/her with a dagger-whip, mind you, or the old-fashioned spiked chain. As long as it's fairly mobile and weird, it could work. |
| Staver02-26-08, 03:16 PM | Does it have to be an exotic weapon, as in requiring Exotic Weapon Proficiency? If not, my reaction is that it is really odd for a Dwarf to forsake Moradin and go with Fharlanghn anyway, so why not go all the way over to "the dark side" and use Fharlanghn's favored weapon, a quarterstaff? -Just my :twocents: , Staver |
| the_force_is_with_me02-26-08, 05:58 PM | Thanks everyone, i was already using the quarter-staff as a weapon as well as a unique weapon. |
| Drackthor02-29-08, 02:27 PM | A Boomerang with "What Goes Around, Comes Around" engraved into it. |
| the_force_is_with_me03-01-08, 12:30 AM | A Boomerang with "What Goes Around, Comes Around" engraved into it. lol nice idea thanks! Do they have stats for the boomerang? |
| Drackthor03-01-08, 01:51 AM | lol nice idea thanks! Do they have stats for the boomerang? IIRC The PHB should have it in there somewhere. Also, if you wanted a more common weapon, you could go with a Bow that has "We Deliver" engraved on it. |
| the_force_is_with_me03-03-08, 12:08 AM | argh no boomerang in the palyer's handbook |
| GodGoblin03-04-08, 08:21 AM | I think it might be in the Complete Warrior for a 3.5 ed but i know the Arms and equiptment guide has one in it. Its 3rd edition but it still works perfectly with 3.5 Hope that helps! |
| The_Shaman03-05-08, 02:57 PM | I'm sure it would be in the Arms and Equipment Guide... Although I think it might be also in CWar and Eberron CS (they had some kind of a special boomerang there) |
| Drackthor03-05-08, 05:19 PM | You know, it probably was the Arms & Equipment guide. I must've thought of the PHB instead because A&EG was one of the first D&D splatbooks I ever read after core. |
| Luis_Dragunov03-05-08, 06:55 PM | Well, sounds like a very mobile guy so something unusual (for a dwarf) could be... Spiked Gauntlet. Two of them, one in each fist. Invest in two weapon fighting, dodge, mobility, move-by attack... |
| Neraagile03-06-08, 12:40 AM | Ebberon Campaign Setting: Talenta or Xen'drik Boomerangs |

Invest in two weapon fighting, dodge, mobility, move-by attack... With Throwing & Returning on them. Power Rangers Rocket Fist, anyone? |

| Nox_Noctis03-12-08, 12:22 AM | Jaia brings up a good point. It would be highly unusual to use a weapon that isn't in D&D. ;) |
| Drackthor03-12-08, 06:26 PM | Jaia brings up a good point. It would be highly unusual to use a weapon that isn't in D&D. ;) I dunno, I always thought it'd be a good weapon for a Feral Lolth-touched Water Orc. ;) |
| Nox_Noctis03-12-08, 07:41 PM | I dunno, I always thought it'd be a good weapon for a Feral Lolth-touched Water Orc. ;) Be aware that you're treading a thin line with harassment and flaming (and trolling) as per the CoC. If you disagree with me over that character, that's fine, but everything has its place and this thread certainly is not it. Such remarks do not promote the health of the community. |

I don't have any real problem with you or the character. Goodness gracious, I was saying it as more of a friendly joke. Let's slow the trigger finger down, bud. |
| kebudackle03-13-08, 08:42 PM | How about you just grab rocks and smash people, or a road sign? Hell, you could use a wagon wheel or one of those big ole pieces of wood they use to hold oxen side by side...:D |
| JaiaDrottsingr03-14-08, 06:39 AM | one of those big ole pieces of wood they use to hold oxen side by side...:D Just so you know, for future reference, that's called a yoke. |
| kebudackle03-14-08, 09:38 AM | Just so you know, for future reference, that's called a yoke. :detect: OK, your story checks out... |
| Drackthor03-14-08, 09:17 PM | Just so you know, for future reference, that's called a yoke. I dunno, "big ole piece of wood" sounds better, just IMO. |
| Voran_Illezou03-18-08, 10:18 PM | How about a Jovar or Annulat from the Planar Handbook. Or how about an Orc Double Axe? |
| EvilCouch03-18-08, 10:58 PM | Make something up and use rules for something appropriate. Immediately springing to mind, for absolutely no good reason, were gauntlets with hammer-heads mounted to the front of them. Call them "Fists of the Righteous" and give them the same stats as a warhammer. |
| Voran_Illezou03-18-08, 11:09 PM | How about just plain old unarmed? Imagine a Dwarven cleric charging at you, screaming, and when he runs up, he cuts your head of with his hands. |
| Chaosepoch03-19-08, 01:54 PM | paving stone. C'mon, he's a dwarf! STONE! Mile stone maybe? Small milestones for throwing? |
