What I have so far is that his mother caught the eye of a copper dragon who spent more time among humans than most, and a child was conceived. The mother was cast out of her village because of her "deformed" and demon spawned child, and traveled to a large city where she raised him as best she could, when he was 7 or 8 years old, a disease killed a number of people in the city, including his mother. He survived because of his unique heritage. Bereft of family and home, and lacking any means to support himself he took up with a gang of beggars and pickpockets whose leader saw him as a useful asset rather than a freakish child. Due to his charismatic nature he was often seen begging and busking (performing for coins) on the street, Although when he reached his teenage years, he began to grow much larger and bulk out a great deal, as well as display more of his draconic heritage. My main problem is that I want to either have a modified fighter class that focuses on smaller blades and lighter weaponry, or a straight rogue that uses daggers in abundance. My main problem with having a dagger user is that at earlier levels, the claw and bite attacks are more effective than a dagger, so how could I explain his proficiency in such? My DM was thinking that he could have been taught by a mentor who was proficient in the use of daggers, such as the leader of that beggar gang. But still, unless I can make it a beleivable backstory, my DM will deep-six it. Any help would be appreciated, and comments are as well. |

He thinks of himself as a human (or whatever) and consideres taking a mouthfull of another person to be cannabilism... yuk :P He doesnt *know* that his bite and claws do more damage than daggers, a guy who can punch really hard is still going to pick up a knife if he can, cos he thinks it will do more. It would be cool if he wasnt totally sure about his heritage, so he makes alot of mistakes and what not. Thats all i got at the moment, more soon. Later |

And him being unsure of his past would be really interesting to roleplay in the session (My dm gives roleplay bonuses and penalties for too much metagame talk). I'm thinking of advancing him into the 5 level prestige class "Invisible blade" from rogue, which would be very interesting, and fit my wish to have a dagger focused guy. |
