(Homigawdzidothat? ) And the idea came into my head of this: These all show how a character develops over their life as an adventurer. But what about beforehand? Not anything specific, but perhaps simply as a guidline or as a set of ideas or liklihoods, perhaps there could be some things that become part of a character as "0-level" if I use the term correctly, or developed before they reached their adulthood and first level? EXAMPLES Background: Farmer's Son/Daughter Likely Class: Any Likely Skills: Appraise (Int), Handle Animal (Cha). A farmer's child would most likely have to learn the basics of trading to sell their goods and buy new tools, as well as how to handle their livestock. Background: Homeless Orphan Likely Class: Rogue Likely Skills: Bluff (Cha), Perform (Cha), Slight of Hand (Dex). An orphan may have to develop a talent for conning, entertaining, or theft to survive, so that they might be able to buy food or an inn stay. Background: Student Wizard Likely Class: Wizard Likely Skills: Knowledge (any) (Int), Spellcraft (Int). Wizards, by trade, are intellectuals and spellcasters, thus it is common to be well-versed in academic studies as well as magical know-how. |

Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but give it a look, and see if there are any bits you like. |
