| Prom04-27-07, 11:33 PM | Hi All, I think the group I have been playing with needs a company name or title. Right now we are four PC's going where the DM hooks lead use. Collect the bounty, kill the monsters, solve some puzzles, pick up stuff along the way, blah, blah. I cool name for a band of heroes, with a mission statement, might focus everyones purpose in a distinct direction. The party is made up of; Cleric Dwarf (L4), Brock Ludwick Wizard (L4), Lestir Fye Barbarian (L1) Psychic warrior (L1) (ECL 3) half-giant, Dryfoot Rogue (L1), Griff We have moments of stupidity and brilliance. Lestir and Brock are the longest surviving members. Brock tends to lead because no-one else will, but has very low Charisma, as does everyone in the party. We all started with Axenhaft Security, cleaning up Barrow's Edge. Just recently we have entered a forgotten kings tomb, but we can not keep working for Eldremma Axenhaft till level 20. Posted by Pukunui Eldremma Axenhaft, of Axenhaft Security, The Dawn Way, Brindol, shuffles around from behind the counter. She smiles at Brock, the young dwarf cleric she's taken to thinking of as the nephew she never had. "I've got a job for you ..." Any sugestions? Prom |
| Prom04-30-07, 05:18 PM | Hi All, It is clear to me that people are reading this post but not responding, so I will give you the ideas I have come up with so far. Suggested Party Names; Dennovar Exploration and Security Ltd The Hammer Expedition Company Steel Archaeologists Inc Well that is what I have at present, what do you think? Prom |
| RellenMarn05-01-07, 12:03 AM | Have your group completed any acts that they holed to be noteworthy, valerous, etc.? That might give you something to go off. You might also have everyone wear some sort of emblem, be it a red sash, a black armband, a lion rampant upon their shield. Brock's Brawlers Brock's Bashers Maybe a little more detail on what you have done, etc., would help. Good luck! Oh and how about changin the Hammer Expedition Company to the Hammer Adventurers Company, and calling yourselves H.A.C for short, kinda fun. |
| Prom05-01-07, 03:27 AM | Hi RellenMarn, The only thing the party has done is drive off Noak a little dragon. The group I am with do not really have that many noteworthy moments. Here are a few highlights from our games and you will get a feel for the group. Please not that the characters Lemig and Edywd are dead now. All the material has been posted by Pukunui. Unfortunately, our heroes are not especially charismatic and thus do not make a terribly good impression on their would-be employers. Edwyd sees movement in the shadows of the cave and halts. He cries out in Goblin, "Hey listen! We only want to talk to you! We're looking for Bruce. We want you to stop attacking the village! We mean you no harm!" As the adventurers creep closer, they become increasingly bewildered as their attempts to parlay go ignored. The guard dog begins to get on Edwyd's nerves and in exasperation he shoots it in the throat. The heroes, for some reason, bottle themselves up in the cave entrance, while the goblins throw javelins at them from the high ground further back. Most miss, but one goblin is lucky enough to hit Lestir in his fat belly, causing the wizard to run back out of the cave and hide behind the cleric, all the while begging him to help. Spooked, Lemig rushes back to Brock and whispers "Dead guys." The dwarf replies, "What kind?" Lemig shrugs and says, "The kind that walk." Unfamiliar with any sort of tactics at all, the heroes remain in the narrow corridor with Brock at the front, taking the full brunt of the goblin onslaught while Lemig futilely attempts to shoot over Brock's head. Despite the fact that there is considerable firepower coming from such a narrow opening, none of it manages to damage the goblins. Lemig could only watch on in disbelief as his companions ran like lemmings into what appeared to be a death trap. Edwyd then proceeds back down into the darkness and this time discovers an ogre zombie waiting on the bottom-most landing. It appears to be guarding a door, but as the foolhardy ranger steps down onto the stairs, the zombie charges forward and slams into him, dropping him to 0 hp. Lemig then decides he's going to fire all of his arrows at the zombie, despite the fact that they don't seem to do much. Brock urges Lemig to try the two orange-fletched arrows they found on a skeleton in the mausoleum, but the tiefling is reluctant to part with them. The dwarf kicks him in the shins and says, "Shoot the bloody things!", but still Lemig resists. The others renew their efforts to persuade the tiefling to use them, but he refuses until Edwyd offers him 75gp as a bribe! Lemig stands up, steps back, drinks his potion of bull's strength, then tumbles around behind the central partition, going after the smaller of the two varags (who happens to be female). He tries to attack her but misses. She hits him and drops him back down to 1 hp. He tumbles around her and hits her in a vital spot, dealing skirmish damage. It's not enough to kill her, though, and on the next round she retaliates, delivering a mighty blow that strikes the tiefling dead, reducing him to -13 hp! No! Lemigs mind wheezed, im not ready, take the dwarf.... The ratlike hobgoblin feinted twice and both times Edwyd fell for it. He took hits in some vital areas and dropped to -1 hp. Brock, who had withdrawn up the stairs, sighed when he heard Edwyd squeal and trudged back down to heal him. Brock got the jump on the enemy cleric, presenting his holy symbol and calling down the wrath of his deity. For some reason he couldn't quite place, the dwarf cleric felt particularly empowered; as a result, all four skeletons were completely obliterated by the divine radiance emanating from his holy symbol. Brock decided to use the rope but halfway down he slipped ... and fell ... 50ft ... to the bottom of the cavern. He discovered that the cavern floor was covered in only about a foot of water. Next Kethra showed off as well, throwing a little strip of cloth over the rope and sliding down that way, landing gracefully at the end. Edwyd was impressed and attempted something similar, using his grappling hook instead of a strip of cloth. Unfortunately, he didn't get a good enough of a grip with the hook and he too fell ... all ... the ... way ... to ... the ... bottom. Brock saw him coming and managed to get out of the way. Edwyd's battered and broken body (at -9 hp!) floated up on the water next to Brock, who healed him up to 2 hp. The others heard Edwyd's strangled cry and wondered what had happened. Lestir peered through the darkness then conjured up an ice knife and chucked it down, hoping to strike the creature wrapped around his brother's neck. Unfortunately his aim was not true and he struck his brother instead, doing 9 cold dmg and 2 DEX dmg! The third time the runes flared, a second pair of weasels appeared. Both won initiative and leaped straight for Edwyd's throat. I rolled confirmed natural 20s for both and then rolled 27 dmg. Edwyd fell to the ground, his throat torn out. Lestir, in a state of shock, went over to Edwyd's body and started rifling through his brother's stuff, sorting out what he wanted to take with him and what he wanted to leave behind. The others could only stand and watch in dumbfounded silence ... Brock was the hero of the day in this fight, delivering the killing blow to each of the four constructs. I do not know how the party survives, but it is not from skill. Prom |
| Lanoitakude05-02-07, 11:14 AM | Hey Prom! Here are some I thought up: 1) Better Lucky than Good 2) Brock's Bumbling Band of Bohemian(sp?) Brawlers 3) The Brock Ludwick Experience, Featuring Griff [stolen from The Simpsons] 4) The Diehards (because some of them are tough to kill, while others seem to die...hard!) |
| Prom05-02-07, 04:37 PM | Hi Lanoitakude, Thanks for the input. I like this one a lot, it is quiet funny. Posted by Lanoitakude, Brock's Bumbling Band of Bohemian(sp?) Brawlers. I just do not think the rest of the group will accept it. In addition no one is going to hire use with that name. The combination of two of your ideas looks real good though,Lucky and Diehards. What do you think of the following name? The Lucky Diehards This is the one I will suggest to the other guys in my group. Thanks Lanoitakude Prom |
