| PonTelon09-08-05, 02:31 PM | Might want to try the Character Optimization Boards. However, I like Rage Mage(Complete Warrior), Frenzied Berserker(not so much fun for your party members also in Complete Warrior), Bear Warrior(Complete Warrior again), Primeval(Frostburn), Frost Rager(Frostburn), and a slew of other ones. Those are the ones just off the top of my head. My personal favorite out of those is Primeval though. =) |

You also get Skirmish - it works like sneak attack (bonus d6 damage) but only when you've moved 10+ feet in your turn. Pick up mounted combat and ride-by attack, and you could easily build a Ghengas Khan(spirited charge, power attack, etc.) or a Crazy Horse(mounted archery, archery tree), if that's the kind of thing you're into. If you don't want to go mounted combat, Scout is still a good choice - you get fast movement every so often, just like with barbarian. A barbarian/scout could make an excellent guerilla sniper or skirmisher. Sneak in, pop up, run away, hide. Or just get in close and rage. Scout is in Complete Adventurer. Note that the errata (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/CompleteAdventurer_Errata08022005.zip) limits the Skirmish ability to unmounted combat, which unfortunetly eliminates this ability's usefulness for a mounted build. I'd ask your DM to house rule in the original Skirmish discription and ignor the errata. Another favriote is horizon walker. All the terrain mastery perks are nice. The must-have planar mastery is Shifting - you can use deminsion door every 1d4 rounds. This works nicely with Rage - warp right into the thick of things, go crazy, warp away. At any rate, horizon walker gives you lots of opportunity to customize your character. Both these offer lots of RP opportunties, too. Scout, as presented in CW, is generally a miltary class. If you're starting out as an advanced character, you might imagine that he has some miliatary experiance - fought in the Goblin Wars or some such. Or maybe you could join a military outfit for a time. Horizon walker should be pretty self-explanitory. For instance, if you really were making a Gengis Khan, two levels of horizon walker, for Hills and Plains terrain mastery, would make a lot of sense. |

| Tal'eth09-16-05, 05:32 PM | I like the Rune Scarred Berserker out of the Unapproachable East supplement. I think it was released under 3.0 rules, but the class is not difficult to update to 3.5. I think that class is very powerful, especially considering the spell list. A raging berserker with an Anti-magic field?? HELP!!! heheh |
