Probably not the most original of ideas, but hey, I created a 1st level half-orc Barbarian and it turns out he's rather smart. I had great rolls when rolling for stats (18,17,16,16,14,13,10 - drop lowest  )...18 (20) str, obviously, 16 dex, 17 Con, 14 Wis, 13 (11) Cha...SO he got the 16 (14 for Intel). I'm just looking for some stuff to add to his personality. SO far I'm going with that his mother was a mage (Druid, Wizard or Sorcerer is unknown) which explains some of his smarts...

Personality-wise, Drekk Nathal (my char) is friendly but boisterous (Chaotic Good), sometimes rude and obnoxious (Barbarian half-orc...cmon), but rather tolerable to be around. In a team with a Ranger and Fighter PC, and Sorcerer NPC in the kingdom's military. As long as they don't make fun of his odor or ancestry Drekk won't Rage in the Wizard's store or even the bar but Drekk does love his booze (I've raged outside of battle more than in; last game the Sorcerer punctured my "wineskin" on purpose and things were not pretty). For fun Drekk is a wrestler (going 2 levels of Fighter to get Improved Unarmed Strike, Improved Grapple, and Earth's Embrace), as well as a lover of travel and culture, speaking quite a few languages, altough no one knows about that part. Drekk carries a Wizard's Spellbook in his backpack to write in (when no one's looking) and even has ranks in Spellcraft heh. Drekk talks like any other half-orc, but thinks rather clearly. But Drekk is still a barbarian and isn't above attempting to grapple the guy who whispered something nasty about half-orcs as he walked by or eating small animals...

So what would YOU do to maximize Drekk's RP potential? Despite the obvious combat skills, I'm planning on giving him quite a few utility skills (cooking, etc) to make things especially interesting...

"Grins" Finally someone who has broken away from the All Half Orc Barbarians must be stupid brutes image!, Perhaps have him play an instrument? Such as the drums. Or develop a taste for elven wine. Or even worse Fey Wine! Perhaps he loves to read certain authors? Have him worship a god that would seem highly unusual, Such as Corellon Larethain, Or Clangeddin Silverbeard. There are tons of possibilities for this character, Also you might consider having him develop an interest in Arcane magic.

Heh, today Drekk spent part of his evening at a Gnomish Opera writing in his journal (and disrupted said opera in a rage when my comrade tried to stab my book). Then got completely wasted that same evening...Elvish wine! That's great, I will go for that! He already has an interest in Arcane magic, whenever a spell is cast, I roll my Spellcraft, shout out it's name if I get it, and generally rant like I know about spells afterwards...RAY OF FROST! HEY, THAT NEAT SPELL...WHY NOT MAKE RAY OF FIRE THOUGH?

Anyone else care to add to this? I'm having so much fun with him.
