As the title states I am looking for ideas for music to put on my I-pod to play when my Bard casts a spell.

Music should be appropriate and should be PG, as I have children who are frequently around when we are playing. Humorous choices will be my first choice and I will be avoiding Rap in general as it isn't to my taste.

As an example I am looking at using Abba's Dancing queen to represent Otto's dance.

All six of the cure wounds spells are going to be one of the big challenges as I haven't been able to come up with a decent idea for any of them.

Thanks:D

Inspire Courage: Carry On - Kansas.

You love it. Your group will hail you as a god among men, and it will just make for such an awesome moment that if you don't incorporate it I will lose all respect for you and e-punch you.

I'm imagining that you'd usually go with something with fewer instruments, because he's not carrying a whole band with him, I assume. So, for the sake of being a bit more realistic, try finding music with only a few non-electric instruments and a single voice. Something like an unplugged version of your favorite singers would help.

And with a good use of Ghost Sound, or other party members chiming in, I think that the true Otto's would be Loituma - Ievan Polkka (the bard could be the bass-voice if male, the leading if female).

Hey, you got your logic in my bardic music! :P

I am not worried about the type of music as I am mostly doing this for the amusement value and the tone that it will bring to the game.

It is much easier to imagine a Bard doing something magical with his music if you actually have music to back it up. It helps everyone get more into the mood and the spirit of the game session, something that our group needs as much as possible.

In addition I want to play up the silly stereotype of the Bard as much as possible, so that when my Bard starts to show how incredibly effective and powerful a well played Bard can be in a long running campaign it will have an even greater effect in eliminating the stereotype of the useless Bard.

I know that a Bard played properly can be among the most powerful of all the classes, surpassed only by the full spell-casters at high levels and then having a versatility that puts all of them to shame. I know that there are many on the boards that think Bards are useless but they have very high value in a party from the purely mechanical standpoint in D&D 3.5, especially if they are in a party like mine of 6 players total. Being able to make the Rogue, Cleric, Druid and Monk start fighting like full BAB characters on a regular basis is an incredibly powerful ability. So much so that they upped Persistent spell from +4 levels to +6 levels between 3.0-3.5 because of repeated reports of high level Cleric abuse.

Anyway I haven't posted recently as I have been busy with work and school and haven't had the time to work on the musical play list that I have put together. I will post the spells and songs associated with it shortly when I have time.
