So here I am in my game, going along normally thinking my rogue/cleric/bfz would end up having to start a cult or whatever to become a demi-god, something that i would start at around level 15.

Right now, i'm level 10 and because of an artifact the party have gotten, we can each use our 5th of the artifact for various reasons, but the one that jumped up at me, was become a Demi-god.

So now, my NE character has to decide whether or not demi-god status would be worth it, advantageous and disadvantageous of becoming a demi-god, so and so forth.

My Questions for the Boads: HELP! I need somebody Help! Not just anybody Help! You know I need someone Help!

Does anyone else have some experience in demi-god characters ((weak DG characters)) in a campaign??

If your DM gives you the oppurtunity, go for it. Even with Divine Rank 0, you are still above mortals. If he lets you grow in Divine Rank, then you are set.

i think that you have to convince your followers that you are beyond anything normal...human/mortal whatever...you have to become superhuman in a couple of ways, whether it means skill ranks or ability scores..whatever...also it will be difficult to break into a pantheon, you might need the sponsorship of an existing god, which in itself could be a campaign, just to get sponsorship.

"Heroes are remembered but legends never die, and anything with divine rank automatically becomes an npc."

Honestly id say dont do it. being a god is one thing but you are practically forced to deal with the stuff your portfolio deals with 24/7, so you wouldnt have time to adventure with your buddies. Though playing poker with the other gods sounds like it could be a blast. up to you really.

Only deities of divine rank 1 or higher use a portfolio. A quasi-deity (divine rank 0) gains some incredible bonuses that will raise the power level of the game up significantly, but you aren't "almighty" and there could still be plenty of things to roleplay with. If you were to become a true demigod, then I'd agree with YamiSouru...

Thanks Guys for the advice.

It looks as if the GM has a template he might use for "demi-god" hood

Deific Aspect
Deities often imbue mortals with a significant amount of their own powers. These super
mortals have extraordinary powers far beyond any normal mortal. These Aspects have a
fragment of the deity's conscience, and almost always act as an extension of the deity in the
mortal realm.
The Deific Aspect Template can be applied to any non-outsider character.
Hit Die: All the Aspect's Hit Dice increase to d12's.
Alignment: Deific Aspects follow the same rules as clerics for alignment.
Skills: Deific Aspects receive Knowledge (Religion) and Knowledge (The Planes) if they
didn't already possess them as class skills. Choose 1 extra cross class skill to add
to all of your class lists.
Skill Points: Skill Points per level increase by 3.
Ability Modifiers: +2 CON, +2 INT.
Natural Armor: Natural Armor increases by +3.
Base Attack and Saves: By Class.
Level Adjustment: +2
Abilities
Bonus Feat: Lightning Reflexes
Bonus Feat: Persuasive
Alignment Aura: A Deific Aspect possesses a strong aura of one aspect of his or her
alignment.
Blind Sight: The Deific Aspect has blind sight 60'.
Deific Powers (SP): 1/Year: Miracle, Hallow/Unhallow*; 1/Month: Atonement, Lesser
Geas; 1/Week: Bestow Curse, Remove Curse; 1/Day: Restoration, Greater
Scrying, Speak with the Dead. 3/Day: Remove Fear, Bless/Curse Water*, Calm
Emotions. CL 10, save DC 16, * Denotes Deity alignment dependent.
Deific Prowess (SU): At will: Detect Magic, Detect Undead, Guidance, Divination, Zone
of Truth. CL 10, Save DC 16. Constant: Comprehend Languages, Tongues.
Deific Connection (SU): Once per day a Deific Aspect can use Commune as a
supernatural ability, foregoing the XP cost, Caster Level 10.

sorry for that.

That is what it looks like I'll get if I decide to try and pursue it. My main concern is, while I don't think any cleric would say the words "i don't want to be a demi-god for my dieity" At what point does a cleric decide they want to be a god..and not worship their diety anymore??

Having others think you're a demigod or a god can often be more useful than actually being one. I am playing an epic cerebremancer/tainted scholar with such an obscene bluff that he has convinced his cohort and all his extra followers (he has all the extra leadership feats) that he is a god and they have set up a temple to him and worship him daily. I used that same bluff to say that the path of a cleric should not be taken when worshipping me (since I can't grant spells) and that all my worshippers are treated based on their service to me in the mortal realm.
