One of the players that I usually DM was getting really excited about a new campaign that I'll be trying out soon. I'm still not sure if I should make any promises to him yet but heres his description so far.

A black mage, descendent of the archmage that led the black mages during the Age of war. He is in his early 20's and is slightly hunchedas well as extremely skinny, wears baggy robes and a wizards hat.

His personailty is that of a smart assed sarcastic wit all rolled into one. He may seem evil but in the whole he is not really "evil" but only appears to be that way.

It seems like theres alot that can be done in terms of storyline for his character... so what do you guys think? good start? When I first heard it a descendent of an archmage doesn't exactly strike me as one of those types taht are slightly hunched and wheres a friggen top hat with baggy clothes. Although in a way does that give it character? Ideas and opinions would be welcome. Also please feel free to state any ideas in terms of "goals" for this character that might come to mind. My thanks

maybe the shoddy appearance and crappy posture are a result of stresses on the character to equal or suprass his ancestors, and the ****-poor attitude is a front for a rage or fear he feels towards that stress.

Or maybe he hangs out with a guy named fighter, who likes swords :D

"Shut up you Dunce, Fighter!"
"I'm not just a dunce fighter, I'm a dragon fighter, an orc fighter, a goblin fighter... by the way what's a dunce?"

I think it should be good: the character speack longly on how he will surpass his ancestor, how he will eventually rule the world, but he can help but help the first sad citizen he meets!

He doesn't want anyone be aware when he perform good deeds, since it could have a bad effect on his evil reputation...
