Ok, so this is my first time creating a character. The last time i had a lot of help and I started at level 13 and didn't need a backstory. Well, my groups characters got too awesome and the dm killed them all off. That leads to my current predicament: I am relatively new to the game and was wondering if someone could help me come up with a backstory. We are doing an evil campaign. I eventually want to be a blackguard so i'm a level one human female fighter at this point and i have no idea what the backstory should be like. Any help would be much appreciated.

Try to come up with a simple, basic concept for your motivations that appeals to you, and then work up from there.

Some examples:

-A proud, honor-obsessed noblewoman, whose family was stripped of lands and estates when it was caught on the losing side of a civil war, and is willing to do anything to restore her families lost honor and position. Views her current station as deeply unjust, and will do anything to change it.

-A pious, deeply devout woman, who grew up in a family devoted to worshipping the dark god(s): she's motivated by a deep faith in evil, and has wanted to be a blackguard since she was six years old. Not a deep thinker: just wants to be the most evil person she can be; her mother always told her so.

-A mercenary who grew up in poverty who has lived a life of constant bloodshed and callousness. Having lost all sensitivity to moral concerns, she no longer knows or cares about right and wrong, and only wants wealth and power so she can escape the hell that's been her life so far.

-A rich, arrogant, spoiled girl who has always believed she's above the rules. Whenever she's done anything wrong (she's been prone to violence, being a fighter), she's gotten away with it thanks to wealth and connections. She's so internalized the idea that rules don't apply to her that she thinks she can cut deals with fiends and still keep her soul. (probably thinks her dad's connections can get her out of it)

Those are just a few ideas. There could be many others.
