The question is can a spellcaster arcane or divine (more divine for certain reasons) if the character is blind? If so what can the charcater do to do, like any spells or magic items to help cast his spells? Many people has a famailar could work but what abou a cleric? Yeah i know the healing spell can cure him but what if the god he worshipped say this you calling or punishment or something and must be blind to follow him? |

However, there's a few ways around this. As an arcane caster, get yourself a bat familiar. Blindsight 30'. As a divine caster, talk to your DM to see if you can get a seeing-eye familiar. In the Dragonlance novels, Crysania (cleric of Palatine) was blinded at one point. Afterwards, she gained a white tiger as a companion. She was able to 'see' through its eyes. See if your DM will allow something similar. |
| Grislof the Blind08-10-03, 12:57 PM | Well.. i think a familiar is nice.. but how could a blind learn wizardry if he can't read at all... thus when i played a blind spellcaster.. i made him a cleric so i could cast a spell me and my dm developed.. wich made me able to read texts by imposing my hands at it.. so then i could become an arcane spellcaster.. Hope it helps |
