| Argentsaber07-18-07, 03:35 AM | Ok, here is what I need help with. My character is a Gish. I mean it... he trained with the githyanki (although he is an elf). The character was mostly bard, with a level of dragon slayer thrown in. His fear immunity has thus far been played as “recklessly brave” and he is far more of a warrior than a caster at this point. His time spent on the planes has left him somewhat a-moral, though not strictly evil. In order to overcome a great evil, he was forced to wield Justice-bringer, the huge great sword of Heironeous. When he died wielding the blade, his spirit did not travel to the outer planes, but instead was purified in the blade, all the parts of him that were prone to . He is now lawful good. The DM has ruled that I can rebuild my character at level 10, but must be lawful good (from that level onward most likely), and must have at least one level in a “holy” class such as paladin or cleric. It need not be a base class, and given my desire to be a fighter/mage type character, it might be better if i could find a full or nearly full casting prc. His initial build was an armored *read: mithril full plate and animated shield* bard8/dragonslayer1/sublime chord2/eldrich knight9 on 32 point buy. I relied on spells like heroics (for fighter bonus feats as the situation requires) and improvisation (to counteract power attack penalties). I would prefer not to deviate from the basic idea, so what I am really looking for is a way to keep 16 BAB, caster level 16+, and 9 levels of sublime chord casting (for level 9 spells). While I have considered just taking paladin2 (prior to sublime chord obviously) if only for the saves, I do not want to step on the other (single class) paladin's toes any more than I already am. The game master prefers to use only the core, first 4 completes, and phb/dmg2, although several of the more tame ideas from other sources have been allowed. He will not use abjurant champion (quoting it as more than a little over powered, and i am not certain i can disagree in good faith). He has agreed to entertain the idea of adapting sanctified one (probably because it fits the situation so very well), but no final word on it, or on what abilities would be gained. I have considered So how about it... anyone have any ideas on a PRC i can use? Should i try to write my own class (or possibly re-write the horrifically bad shining blade class)? PS: I know that using bard is hardly optimal, i used it intentionally as i haven't played a bard since second ed. |
