I always see D&D as a little animation similar to ***-Animation in my head. I don't think my brothers like it becuase they don't visualize like me. I never realy see them as imagitive. My character's are always hard like rock amd preety much always have a deep voice like a Male Bladeback Cleric of The Silver Flame, The Female Changeling Swashbuckler or even a Warforged Wizard.

I have also thought of similar things. I am trying to figure out how to make a campaign with Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden and the FF10 characters. If you have any advice I would be thankful.

To be honest, I'm not sure why there is a need to make an 'anime-themed' character just through mechanics. The "big sword" is maybe an indicator, but anime is full of characters who don't wield weapons larger than themselves... heck, some characters don't even fight, just play sports or solve mysteries.

The identifying facet is the style and portrayal of the charactes.

Mainstream anime is often very stylized. Because of this stylization certain features or concepts have become so common that they have been given names of their own. Often in comedic anime, characters that are shocked or surprised will perform a "face fault", in which they take an extremely exaggerated expression. Angry characters may exhibit a "vein" or "stressmark" effect, where four lines representing stylized bulging veins will appear on their forehead. Angry women will sometimes summon a mallet from nowhere and strike someone with it, leading to the concept of Hammerspace. Embarrassed characters will invariably produce a massive sweat-drop, which has become something of a stereotype of anime.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anime#Characteristics

The definition of an anime character is much more rooted in the style and portrayal of the character - this works very well for the manga and shows that they are in, where the storyline is set. But in the more fluid role-playing environment, it's hard to make 'anime-ness' come through.

Anime itself is a pretty diverse group; how do you define what is and is not an anime character? Big swords or ninja/samurai skills aren't the identifying characteristic of an anime character - it's rather the character traits above.

In short, in order to really play a proper anime character, the world setting and the tone of the campaign has to match; or at least fit the portrayal of the character.

This thread seems more like something that would fit in either the Anime D20 forum or the Character Optimization, since you're talking about 1)Anime and 2) Mechanics for building a powerful character.

Now if you want to talk personalities, alignments or backgrounds, then this is the right forum.
