Ok so I love making charecters personalities.
My only rule is i never make one quite, or one I wouldn't like (except villians)

Now I'm playing Iron heroes and I chose archer. I've never played an archery specific charecter before, and now I'm having trouble with personality.

I tend to pick personality based on ability.

My summoner was crazy friendly and loved having animals near him, his querks were things like always having a different creature near him and hating caged animals.

My Illusionist was hilarious and always played tricks got the party in trouble.
Not wise at all, great combo for wizard personality.

I played a psionist and made him very serious and quite, more a thinker and he was really boring so thats why I don't do that anymore.

My cleric was a dwarf of Hanseath(enough said)

I picture an archer(of this class) being patient and persistent. (they wait and build up aim tokens until they can do cool shots) This is not ussually teh charecter that gets alot of attention, I thrive off attention. I was going to make him young so that he can be more bold and less intellegent. Leads to more roleplaying. Other than that I don't have any ideas. Can you guys help me. BTW: this a low magic campain, thats kinda why I got an archer.

You could be brash and arrogant. Emphasize the fact that you can get multiple attacks off before your enemy closes to melee range. If your encounters are frequently in open areas, and your DM doesn't mind starting encounters at long distance, consider taking the Far Shot feat and maxing out Spot, so you can start an encounter as soon as possible, either slaying the enemy before it can close, or spotting it while it's still too far away to see you so that you can make a wide circle around it. In town, consider going to the tavern and challenging the locals to a game of darts or horseshoes-- even if it's not archery, it should still be a ranged attack. In short, be good at what you do, be aware of how good you are, and don't be afraid to show it off.

That sounds like a kind of character you'd like to play, if what you've said above is any indication.

Well you can make him a patient character in combat, but you could also make him kinda cocky as well. Have him enter archery tournaments, have him challenge people at darts, have him boast he can take a fly out between it's wings and 50 yards, things like that.

I have no experience with Iron Heroes so I don't know how different it is from basic D&D, any significant differences that might help shape the character's personality?

I honestly don't know yet.
You see my DM is the only one who bought the book.
I ordered it off-line today but I haven't read it yet I just got the basics.

From what I know is the charecter takes either move, standard, or full round action to create a certain amount of "aim" tokens. Then he uses them to do special shots or tricks, one is a death shot(high level) and the only one that gets multiple it a multishot type one that fires many arrows as a standard action. I like the ones that Increase the range and they would go well with the boastful Idea.
The reason I picked him is that he gets +25 as a base attack bonus at lvl 20.

hmm boastful at long range, maybe he could be a chicken at short range.
One of those guys that taunts ans kills most enemies but the occasional few who get up close, he cowers from.

Thats great guys but, I guess it doesn't have to be class related,(thats whats making it so hard) I know need some interesting quirks for him.
I think I'm too used to casters, there easier.
I probably should have gone the rogue type guy or fighter, oh well.

If your archer has a decent INT, you could make him the party strategist. (this works regardless of the class, as long as you are a combat/war oriented character)

Give him a good grasp of distance and depth, able to gauge the space between distant objects effectively.

In combat, call out things like: "Hey Mr. Fighter, move about 15 paces to your left, Mr. Rogue, 10 forward and flank the target in the back; he appears to be the leader!"

Understand and utilize terrain features to their fullest. Always try to have the higher ground, try to keep your exits open, while pinning your opponents against walls or other natural barriers. Try to drive your enemies off cliffs, into bogs, or other natural hazards.

Some character quirks could be: annoying habit of telling other people how to do their jobs; tallying enemies killed (both for you and allies); boasting of previous victories; comparing current encounters to previous ones; etc, etc.

For a few fun archer characters, play Suikoden 1 and 2. One of my favorites, Stallion, is always shooting and running, and laughing about being so fast. Shot on the Run with speed stuff creates a fun "Catch me if you can" character who stays away and mocks the enemies.
