Right now my character is a Human Dragon Shaman. I'm using silver as my totem dragon. I know how interesting is that? The fun part of my character is that I've told everyone I'm a paladin. I'll use my healing aura to fake my lay on hands. I yell something ridiculous for smite evil. Every now and then I'll 'detect evil' on someone. The DM uses a white board to write me the message 'your character does not have that ability' where no one can see it. I act like I've learned something useful. The fun part is that no one can figure out half the stuff that happends in battle and out of battle. When I have energy shield up the DM goes into detail with the very visual affects of the 2 points of cold damage. Frost appearing on weapons, breath visible as if breathing during cold weather, etc etc... At night a very wounded party suddenly wakes up with half there HP returned to them with my healing aura. It's pretty amusing. As soon as I can I plan on going through the chameleon prestige class. The only thing I can't really hide right now is the fact that my character is using a short sword which I tell everyone is for flavor. But I think people just think I'm an idiot. Right now I'm leading the group into a crypt for no other purpose than so that I can get a rare magical item. I've lead them to believe that an infamous outlaw has been seen in the area. Something I've completely fabricated.
This quite honestly is the most fun character I've ever played. I'll probably have to keep a running tab on how long I can dupe the rest of my party. Anyone got any ideas on how you would blow my cover/roleplaying suggestions for my character? A quick background would include: My brother is an npc rogue/chameleon. He told me what I would have to do to get into the guild. My character has always been into dragons and learned of a cult (dragon shamans) that wielded incredible powers. He joined the cult to learn the ways of these people. Afterwards he left and joined basically the 'adventurers guild' where he could stay on top of events in town. He then posed as a paladin to hire the group of PC's to do what he wants. Just thought I'd share my character idea because I'm in the infatuation stage where I can see no wrong with it.

That is awsome, I'm not sure how to help you with it but you have inspired me to let one of my players do the same thing! Let us know how, when and if you get caught.

I'd love to hear stories about what happends. I've only played one session so far and everyone seems to think the bad guys were somehow covering themselves with cold damage. I guess once they start seeing everyone doing it then they'll realize. Also during the course of battle the DM has decided that the fast healing might not be noticible while the adrenaline is rushing through combat but that other characters might notice a huge massive wound healing on its own so to be careful with the healing aura. I accidentally grabbed toughness aura too which I don't use as much as the energy shield but maybe I should since it's the least noticible aura. Anyway we play once a week so I'll keep posting on here if you're interested

Well we had our first session and over all i think it went ok. Let me give a bit of background and that will make it make more since. We are playing the Expedition to Castle Ravenloft adventure and my player that i was talking about had just been killed. He was a fighter and wanted his new character to be a Dread Necro fro HoH. The problem is that the rest of the party is good and the cleric is a Radiant Servant of Palor. So they will not get along, because of that i had originally told him he couldn’t do that. Anyway, he introduced himself to the group at the last session by letting the party find him killing his own summoned Zombies. They only major problem I've had is that my group likes to meta-game a bit to much and they figured out something was up when we started using Google talk during the game. They also started questioning every single spell he did trying to figure out what was going on. His plan is to actually become the BBEG and have the party destroy him (at least try) by the end of the game. I think its a fitting thing for a horror campaign but I’m worried about my players getting mad about the deception. Hopefully everyone will just that its a really cool thing and that they can have some freedom to have underlying objectives that don’t necessarily fit with the rest of the party. Any suggestions on how to handle this would be most appreciated!

Sounds like an awesome idea. I always wanted to do it with some class, just never found the right opportunity for a match up. Best of luck.

Yeah I'm having problems with meta gaming, I tried saying I can lay on hands, and they are like, how are you already second level? Things like that happen.
