| Arkham0009-28-06, 02:27 PM | Hi all, I m creating a new character for a new campaign in Faerun. I'd like to play a Champion of Gwynharwyf, changing it with a god inherent to the setting, also beacause i dont know who is G. ,BOED says that is an eladrin ....so what? So i was thinking about a champion of Uthgar, that is the only barbarian god in faerun ,but his dogma and the ideal of the class doesn't fit at all.... Uthgar is the god of hunting, strenght, saveges and the like ,but nothing as honor, good, etc... So considering that the Champion of G., it is very close to a paladi,n how can I can i make it suitable to the setting? I dont like the idea of a barbarian devoted a "civilized" god ....but i dont know what do to.. I was thinking to a sort of a chavarly order devoted to utghar directly, one step up from the tribes worshipping the totems, but it seems hard to make it possbile . Any ideas? |

He isn't really a god anyway (or is he ? ), basically he's mostly a celestial lord, a bit like Yeenoghu or Juiblex are demon lords. You can picture him as an extremely powerful chaotic good celestial with his own servants. He probably rules over a part of some plane (which depends on whether you use the Faerunian cosmology or the Manual of the Planes/Planescape one), with eladrins and mortal (and why not awakened animals ? )servants at his (loose : he's chaotic after all) service. You aren't speaking about your character's race. If you're looking beyond the Faerunian pantheon, Anhur, Haela Brightaxe, or Solonor Thelandira could work. Have you thought about Nobanion, the Faerunian god of lions, royalty and good beasts ? Since he's such a weak half-god and doesn't appear in a lot of sources, he's easy to change a bit. Or you could stay with your Uthgar god. The problem is that he's not good at all. But maybe a tribe of Uthgar barbarians has been particularly influenced by the Silver Marches and has sedentarised enough that they have created a kind of holy order of Uthgar ? |
