| Deadlast01-30-06, 11:31 PM | im thinking of doing a character that is a changling/shade/invisible blade/mind spy. i dont know what the basis of my dm's plot is yet, but these are two possible ideas i have. one is that the changling snuck into the shade city, and stole the identity of a citizen about to under go the ritual, received the ritual, and escaped. that way it explained why a changeling of all things could become a shade after they left for the plane of shadow and came back. the only downside, would be i would literarly have a city out to kill me, but then again that could actually help the plot nicely. the other one is simply the changeling received it because of its skill, versatility, and clear benefit to the king. the quest itself i know will be a neutral quest, which is why i will be able to be the shade, but NOT evil, so i cant go too far. my cheif problem is how would i introduce my character to the party without them wanting to kill me on sight? on one hand i could have my changeling change to look human, so i could get past general racism persay in the world, but i dont wanna hide my abilities from my allies, that way i can use them more often and easier without expecting them to turn on me. any suggestions would be appreciated |

Having an entire city (not just a city, but a city full of powerfull monsters, most of which are hard core spell casters :D) is actually quite fun and allows your character to never be without motivation "gotta run, been here too long, their gonna find me" Perhaps he is a little paranoid these days about darkness or shadows, constantly fearing that a shade assassian is going to leap out and kill him. Good concept though. Later |
