I know there are a lot of alignment questions around, but I haven't really gotten any closer to finding out what my pc's alignment is, so I'm hoping someone here can help.

I'm playing a female pixie rogue in a party of 1 human fighter/cleric (neutral), 1 human barbarian (chaotic neutral), 1 elf wizard (neutral good) and 1 half-elf fighter/wizard/spellsword (chaotic neutral). So far I've had my rogue be chaotic neutral because it seems to fit with the whole thief-thing. However, the humans (and to a lesser degree the elf) are more or less constantly picking on my little pixie, which is making her rather recentfull (plus she has some unresolved personal business that she hasn't really dealt with yet).
She sees no problem in not telling them if she's found some treasure somewhere that they don't know about (like at the bottom of a well when they don't bother climbing down to check themselves), but does occasionally share with them if she sees fit.
Mostly she shares her secret treasures if the rest of the group needs money to buy better weapons or armor - after all with better equipment they'll stay alive longer which in turn means she stays alive longer. So basically when she does something nice for others, it's usually just because it'll benefit her in the end.

So what alignment is she? I figure either chaotic neutral or neutral evil from what the PH says, but which one? Or is she something completely different?

Ok not sure if this actually makes any sense to anyone else, but any input is greatly appreciated :)

Chaotic Neutral implies strong individuality with a lack of moral focus. Your character would act in a way they consider right for themselves at that time, whether moral or immoral. A Chaotic Neutral character might or might not help a dying man on the street, depending on circumstances.

Neutral Evil implies selfish behavior with an evil slant. Your character would act in the way most beneficial to them at any given point, with lack of basic respect for fellow sentients. A Neutral Evil character would rob a dying man on the street and leave him to die, presuming he could get away with it.

Would you say your character is doing this because she thinks the treasure is rightfully hers and would kill or hurt others to retain it, or does she do so because she's being picked on and is getting a little petty revenge on the other party members? The first would be more NE, the second closer to CN.

Well not petty revenge as such, however she might decide not to help the others if they've been stupid enough to get themselves into trouble that they could have avoided.
It depends on the circumstances: if they'll die, then she'll help because so far it's in her best interest to keep them alive, if they'll just get beaten up or some such, she'll probably think they had it coming. But if the beating also results in the others losing money or equipment, then she'll help them find their stuff again (though some of it may have "mysteriously disappeared" into her bag, she wants something for her troubles after all).

Wile I would agree she is CN. but a CN does not mean unpredictble. actully most are very predictible 8)
