| Kairn8309-05-06, 09:41 PM | Hey all, Having a few problems coming up with a background for my psion character. We're currently running a FR game, set in Cormyr right now but most likely travelling across to Thay at some point. The only things I've been able to figure out about the char is that he has a liking for cold (read - manifests cold energy a bit too much for his own good), has a dislike for nature and the wild, and is quite withdrawn. If it helps at all, he's a 7th level Elan Kineticist - Neutral Evil in the sense that he simply doesn't care, instead of a set philosophy. May take up the Cryokineticist prestige class at some point too. Any help would be much appreciated. |

It is a perfect day, one of many during a happy childhood. Your mother calls you in for dinner; you stand, taking a deep breath of the scents of summer. You run for the door, smelling the roasted pork and simmered potatoes. As you approach the door, the sounds of summer fade, your sight grows dim, and everything slips from view. You arise from your bed, realizing it was just a dream. Of course it was a dream; the days of your childhood are long past. You had no idea what you were getting into when you accepted to become one of the Elans. You thought it would be good to live so long, to learn so much. Alas, bitterness grew in your heart as your friends began to die, one bye one. You tried to associate with other common folk, but in the end, you thought they mocked you for your intelligence. You were superior, you psionic powers far more than these simple farmers could grasp. You sought companionship with the elves. They did not want you; they said you were too arrogant to live amongst them. An elf, calling some one else arrogant! What an outrage. So you sought solace on your own, mastering your own psionic abilities. You tested you skill against mages, and won. Those petty users of the "art" were no match to sheer power of your will. Your soul grew cold, preferring the bleak winter rather than comforting warmth. The flames of compassion shunned you, so you turned your soul into an icy, desolate place. People must pay, and know I am superior. Thay is a land full of mages, you one day aspire to challenge the Red Wizards with your might. For now, you must master more of your powers. Now bordering on schizophrenia, your only true companion is your psi-crystal. Of course, just because you are mentally superior to the rest of the world, that does not mean you can't have a few warm bodies to absorb arrows and sword strikes..... That’s the best I can come up with at this moment, maybe after I have time to think, I can come up with something a little more detailed, or some one else can elaborate. |
