| Hell_Gell06-17-06, 03:20 PM | Ok so my friend said that he is going to run a Forgotten Realms campaign and he was asking what were are going to be. In the past D&D games, I have played a few monks, fighters, a ranger, and a fighter/cleric. So I said that I would be my first Paladin. He though that its an awesome Idea and he asked what rack. I think Im going to make an Aasimar. I havent decided on how to make this character yet. Im thinking on making him worship Helm. Any advice on a prestige class that I should take? Were going to start off lv.7 Thanks :tiphat: ~Hell_Gell~ |

| Hell_Gell06-17-06, 08:12 PM | ....Ok, you're not understanding me. I'm playing as a paladin... a LAWFUL GOOD character. I'm not planning to make him some sorta evil black knight of doom or anything. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on making a good paladin. And to answer your question, racial hit dice count as "levels". I'm not sure what you're making, but let's take an ogre for example. It's got 4HD and a +2 level adjustment, all-in-all it's counted as level 6. If you wanted to make said ogre a barbarian, he'd be a level 1 barbarian with 4d8 + con mod HP. Get it? If you any further questions I suggest you ask the Monster board or hunt around for my older brother who goes under the name of Shar_the_Black. He could help you out better. ....But thanks for the advice anyway, it's just I'm making a good character, not an evil one. Thanks :tiphat: ~Hell_Gell~ |

Anyway, as for prc's, it really depends on how you want to play, there are prc's that focus on a mount (which is a good synergy with the paladins special mount) or others that focus on battling undead, others with leading troops and so forth. So yeah, give me an idea on what area you want to focus your paladin in, and we can go from there. Ps:Shadow Fox, dont go into other peoples threads and ask questions that youve already asked in your own. Later |

Torm for the more martial sort, Lathander more for spreading hope and joy. Maybe Zaphakael if the aasimar focuses on his celestial ancestors. Bear in mind that an aasimar paladin will be very short on feats. I think he'll have 3 feats at 7th level, so try feats that will give you a great deal of flexibility such as Combat Expertise and Power Attack. Divine Champion is cool. Requires BAB +7, Weapon Focus and I think a few ranks in knowledge (religion). The levels add to your Smite and Lay On Hands and you gain a feat at levels 2 and 4, Sacred Defence (extra +1 to all saves at levels 2 and 4) and something called Divine Wrath at level 5. It basically does what the paladin does, only more on combat and no spell progression. |
