Ok...in the next campaign, taking place over the summer, we are starting lvl 5. Im playing an Elf Wiz3/Drd2 who aspires to be an Arcane Heirophant.

He has ranks in Concentration, Handle Animal, Knowledge(Arcana), Knowledge(nature), Profession(sailor), Spellcraft, and Survival.

He has profession(sailor) because his father was a merchant sailor, so he picked up a few tricks from him...just thought that might be important...

I already have a general idea for his backstory and personality...just wanted to see what you guys(or gals) thought would be some good ideas for his personality/backstory

oh...and his familiar is a weasle and his animal compainon is an elven houd.

You say you have a general idea, please give us details.

I picture your character growing up in the Pacific Northwest...maybe Vancouver Island. If the major means of transport is by boat, the ranks in Sailor makes sense. Maybe an otter instead of a weasle.

his animal compainon is an elven houd.
Out of sheer curiosity, how are you doing that? An Elven Hound is a Magical Beast, not an Animal, so short of rule 0 or the 4th lvl Elven Ranger substitution lvl, you cant have a Elven Hound animal companion......

If you have a general idea I suppose you don't mind sharing? I'd love to help you, I'm always up for writing and after my recent surgery I have absolutely nothing better to do.

well...my DM said it was ok, but it doesnt really matter...since when i become a 4th lvl druid im dismissing him and getting a Monitor Lizard

as for the general idea, He grew up with his father, sailing the "sea" trading with distant lands, but as he got older he grew weary of this and decided to join a wizard college(sp?) and learn the ways of the wizard, while there he discovered that he spent more and more time in the gardens of the college rather than learning, so he became a druid, he found another druid and learned a little from him, then he set out on his own and found a forest to call his home...and thats all i got

Maybe an otter instead of a weasle.

otter? what are the details on the otter?

Well I can't really give you much to work with for your character, but an interesting thing...

Your familiar and Animal Companion could be just seething with hatred for one another... or possibly make one male and one female.. and they are constantly destracted by comical romance, so they aren't much of a help.

Just think that would be pretty interesting.

Treat an otter as a weasle with swimming ablities. Or you could do +1 to Reflex Saves, +1 to Swim Checks.

i think ill stick with the weasl...im not going to have a familiar for all that long...at 9th lvl its gonna go away and my animal companion is going to become a companion familiar...YAY...i love the arcane heirophant
